Just a nuance as it only occurs immediately after a full (hard) stop for 1-2sec till smooth idle. Would have to stop, and then immediately punch it within 1sec to see if it had any affect on mobility and haven't tried that.
Right, makes sense if you think about your own scenario right? The engine is going to do “stuff” to keep the transmission from banging in and out of gears. The harder your speed up and slow down the more it’s attempting to prevent damage.

I got mine installed this weekend. Makes a HUGE difference in driveability of the truck. Mine does not enable DFM on deceleration, so I can actually decelerate in a controlled fashion going down hills! Braking is mich smoother as well when approaching a stoplight as the engine helps hold you back.

Overall very pleased. I am waiting to see what actually happens to mileage. Since disconnecting the battery the truck has to relearn the fuel map.

Also, the exhaust sounds much better. I have a Gibson with dual rear outlets. Not sure if it is attributable to the lack of DFM, or the ANC cancelling harness installed also over the weekend.

Anyway, I am very happy. One of the best improvements for this truck. I was hesitant, but I am glad I did it.

I was so happy to find this thread/ learn that a DFM disabler had been released that I went and purchased one immediately. Only after getting the order confirmation email did I see the below little nugget of information.

Oh well, I'll get it eventually I suppose.

POST EDIT: The Range device is not actually a DFM disabler, it's a DFM schedule modifier, parts of DFM (the 0-cylinder deceleration part) are left fully functional with this device installed. If fully disabling DFM all the time is what you want, then this device is not for you.

Maybe I've missed it in this thread, but does the AFM/DFM have ill-effects on Chevy engines, i.e., oil leaks/burning, torque converter failure, clogged piston rings, etc.?

It did in the 8th gen Accords with Variable Cylinder Management (one bank completely disabled), and I have it disabled in my 9th gen for protective and performance purposes despite it not being as much as an issue in the 8th gens.

I'll certainly disable the DFM in the Tahoe too especially if it'll save the engine from "unnatural" wear and tear. It's my husband's car, but I haven't felt or heard the DFM kick in and out when I'm riding along...yet. The thought of being robbed of cylinders doesn't sit well with me or him honestly.

EDIT: Apparently is does cause engine problems... Will be ordering one now!

This is my experience to the tee. You'll probably want to wait until you burn through a few tanks of gas before paying attention to gas mileage. I have developed a little lead foot since I installed mine. I will compare gas mileage when the newness wares off.

I've the Range device installed for a few weeks now and I was disappointed that I still get the noticeable kick-in when coasting/decel down at 14 mph (can really hear the change because I have the Corsa cat-back DRE dual rear exit system) but maybe I shouldn't be.

Few people expect decel (Decel Fuel Cut Out) to have any sound.
If you decide you are disappointed,
the obvious solution is a different exhaust configuration or setting.
Less obvious would be an ecm tune.

How does the RA007 DFM Module compare to the RA003B AFM/DFM Module?
For a 2024 Z71 Tahoe
