Did you remove your wheel and whatnot like the instructions recommend? Or could you gain access without doing all of that?
I took the wheel off, just made it more accessible, I had a floor jack, electric impact and torque wrench.

Also, do you folks believe that you'd need to remove the module prior to taking the truck to the dealership for miscellaneous service?
I'm not going to, I have a good relationship with the dealer and if you subscribe to OnStar it's probably already noted.

Got the DFM diabler in

It's real easy for anyone that might be on the fence or concerned about install.

It's literally just disconnect the negative battery terminal, pull back the inner fender liner carpet thing, then remove the bottom PCM connector.

Plug the DFM disabler module in , then plug the wiring harness back into the DFM disabler module. Only downside is removing the negative battery cable you lose the memory seats positions and phone pairing, so you have to re-bluetooth your phones and reset the memory set location afterwards (which is kinda inconvenient, but not the end of the world).

On a side note, I already had an autostop eliminator installed. Took it out because I didn't know how two different aftermarket things, both trying to turn off the autostop feature, would play together. These things cost $100, anyone want/ need one? I'll sell it for half price ($50), been on the truck for about four months, works fine, but the DFM disabler does that job too, so don't need both.

Post Edit:
Never mind about the selling the autostop eliminator thing. I'd rather throw it in the trash than deal with setting up some online money transfer that'll likely get my banking information/ identity stolen. Just isn't worth the risk for $50.

I don’t loose memory seats or phone pairing? Is this a “feature” of the new google trucks? I just lose the fuel trim, and automatic power window up/down which the truck relearns.

Otherwise, everything else is spot on. This is a great addition.

I never lost phone pairing or seat memory when I pulled the negative lead on my ‘22 a few months back.

I’ve seen fuel trim mentioned on other threads, not about Dfm. What is fuel trim, mixture?

IDK what the difference is, but our 23 Tahoe High Country most certainly forgot the memory seat settings and forgot all our phones ( we have teenage kids with phones too, so we had a bunch of phones that could Bluetooth in before, it forgot them all).

And the cluster did ask me roll down the passenger window after I reconnected the battery ( which I did and the windows work fine). It also turned back on the “check rear seat reminder” thing that I immediately tuned back off. Only other strange thing was the tire pressure monitoring on the dash, it was all blank until I drove for a little bit then the tire pressure numbers came back.

So I ordered one of these Range units for my 2021 Yukon 5.3. I also ordered a Auto Stop Eliminator harness because I didn't realize that the Range module also disables Auto Start-Stop as well.

That being said, I contacted ASE to return my module, and they informed me that the Range unit keeps the trucks run in diagnostic mode, and when the truck is in diagnostic mode, the check engine light is suppressed. So if you ever had a problem, you wouldn't know...because the CEL doesn't come on. Any truth to this?

ASE is also saying that the Range unit has parasitic drain on the battery that is 1000x more than their unit. Which could lead to a dead battery situation if the vehicle sits for extended periods of time.

Not trying to start a beef between Range and ASE, but just wondering if there's some truth to this.

With the Range unit plugged in/installed, if you put the vehicle to the “run” position and the CEL comes on, then I would say … that the CEL would still be working. At least I’m hoping there is no truth to what they are saying.
