Yukon 12 Denali Chinese android unit

Hello everyone!

I have a 2012 Yukon Denali with the OEM Bose system, and I recently bought a Chinese Android radio that was advertised as plug-and-play. Most features are working fine, including the OEM camera, door notifications, and automatic switching to the backup camera when in reverse. However, the audio isn't working.

I contacted the store multiple times, but the customer service reps weren’t very technical and couldn’t help me solve the issue.

After going through some forums, I found out that the OEM amplifier requires a specific signal to turn on. The wiring harness for the unit has a single disconnected wire labeled "amp cont," but I can't figure out where it should be connected.

Has anyone here dealt with these Android units before and can offer some advice? I bought the screen from AliExpress, and returning it would cost more than the price of the unit itself.

This absolutely drives me crazy that its totally designed to be not financially returnable and that installation instructions are not vetted before being put up for sale. Good luck, I had a similar experience with a radio I ended up returning for one I bought from crutchfield (which I also don't love).

If I am reading the wiring schematics correctly it looks like connector C1 is a Black connector on the back of original radio and that would be Pin 6 which should be a White wire which is "Remote Enable Signal" to amplifier.

This is assuming you don't have RPO Y91 on the RPO sticker in your glove.

Yeah exactly, this has been going for sometime now and they have 0 installation instructions. To be fair they sent me 2 sets of wires stating that it will fix my issue with no luck. I read everywhere that Crutchfield is the best go to regarding head units but unfortunately I can't order to my country.

I do have the RPO Y91 on the sticker, what does it mean?

It means you have the "Smart" amp, you can tell because it will have a speaker in the center of the dash. The "Dumb" amp system doesn't have the center speaker.

I believe on the smart amp it is turned on using data over the canbus system. But I may be wrong as I don't have that system.

Finally, the issue is fixed. There is an AMP control line that goes out from the RCA cables, which is usually colored blue. It should be connected to a wire on the CAN bus (in my wiring harness, it's colored green).
