Finished my 6.0 LS engine I started building over 1 years ago! Installed pushrods, rockers and valve covers. L96 block with Gen III reluctor and the associated mods to run it on a Gen III vehicle or ECU.

I had originally planned to swap it into my 99 Silverado, but the 5.3 I swapped (from the V6) in it is running just fine...so?

I removed and wet sanded the rear taillights from my 99 Silverado. Pretty easy removal and a lot of yellowish residue came out on the sanding slurry.

I didn't use the rubbing compound that came with my 3M kit because I'll clearcoat them over the weekend when I paint the roof of my 04 project Suburban. I'm sure I'll have a few ounces left over of clear.

It's one of those little projects that literally don't take any money, except for elbow grease.
I cleared these yesterday...just reinstalled them. Not bad, eh?

I wonder if I should do the rear taillights on the suburbans now?

I want to start saving for Speed Engineering long tubes and y-pipe. I need to know if using O2 defoulers will save me from having a check engine light all the time? If I have to get it tuned to do this I'll just have to save for longer. Thanks for your time

Personally, I'd keep saving and get the catted y-pipe AND a tune. I know, opinions and all. Had an open exhaust LS1 when I was 19 and it stunk so bad - that smell doesn't come out clothes easily. But, back then I did use O2 sims for the rears before I got it tuned.
