2023 Tahoe RST 6.2 engine. Not a good start for going to AZ. Just finished getting gas and entered the freeway getting up to speed warning on dash car overheating and to idel engine??? Got the Tahoe to the shoulder and yes the gauage was at max. Engine died and could not get it started. Also the dash was still on and could not turn it off. Tried the reset and that did not work. Did call onstar and towed to the nearest dealer. The tow truck was also able to drop off my travel trailer at a KOA close. I pulled the trailer in 100 degree temp in Colorado and never went above normal. Any ideas?????

keep us posted.

that is a wild set of circumstances.

Thermostat may have stuck closed.
The dampers in front grill may have closed or were stuck.

None of that explains the engine not starting unless it overheated bad enough to seize the engine.

Very strange, indeed, if you saw no fluids on the ground or on the truck's underside. Perhaps there's an electrical issue with the cooling fans circuit?

Please let us know what the mechanics find out for the root cause of your issue.

Pulling oil filter to see if metal fragments are present. Some fuse blown for the starter. On back order. Thinking main bearings and new engine needed. They are in short supply. Looks like my winter in Arizona is shot.
