Brake pad life reset

Hello I ordered new oem pads and rotors for my 22 Yukon xl I changed both front pads and rotors and the brake pad life will not reset I changed the brake pad sensor also I took it to autozone to try to clear the check engine light they didn’t see anything come up I disconnected the battery and I only have the check engine light on now and the brake pad is still at %17 from the old pads when I try to select the front pads both the rear and front are greyed out and it will only let me disable any help is appreciated I don’t have a diagnostic tool but am willing to buy one if anyone can recommend one thanks

Not yet check engine light finally came off but brace pad life is the same

I’m also having the same problem. I haven’t found a way to reset front pad life. I also installed new pads and sensor on front only. I disconnected the ground wire before starting and reconnected after wheels where on the ground. I did have multiple codes related to the brake system. I reset with basic scan tool. The dtcs went away but pad life is still at 14%. At the brake life menu it only shows enable/ disable and the front and rear sensors are installed.

You need a bi-directional scanner. One that can perform tests and resets. A cheapie code scanner won’t do it.
