Traiding in 2021 Tahoe High Country for 2021 Escalade worth it?
That is no good. I am not overly familiar with the new units all that much but this may be a higher motivator to switch units. The biggest thing would be to find one that has major issues corrected, get an extended warranty and roll on with exactly what you want?- Bigburb3500

How many miles are too many for you when you buy used?
Rust is a huge thing but it really depends on the use of the vehicle. Is it a beater? Cheapest running and safe vehicle. Mileage isn’t a factor. You are very correct. I told my dad the same thing - that’s how he ended up with a 3/4 ton to tow a 6-7k lbs boat. I think the brake controller is a little different than the non-auto 4wd vehicles. Just be sure to get the right one but I think I picked up a used unit when I had a truck like yours for $50 or something. New ones are still available but I think are closer to $200 (don’t quote me). Welcome! Do you have the AWD, selectable 4x4 or 2wd model? I’m going to say if you have the ABS light on the dash you will most likely need a new ABS module. Takes 10 minutes to replace otherwise you can attempt to desolder several of the connection point in the motherboard but it’s a 50/50 shot...- Bigburb3500
