might want to inspect the cable assy first because it comes in 2 separate assys the front cable assy is a part of the park brake assy and the rear part starts where it splits off to the right and left side.. for the most part its the front part of the park brake assy
I agree with Jons check alignment of the pulleys especially the power steering pump pulley its pressed on and can be sliding out the center hole should be flush with the power steering pump shaft... also might what to remove the belt and spin the pulleys to see if the smooth and have a true...

If i remember right its the rod that the lumbar mechanism ride on pop out of the frame assy however if its the cable that broke you do have to buy the whole assy from the dealer its not hard to replace
