I'm not sure if anything like this has been posted up here but I gotta share this!
I am working on a customers '06 Tahoe right now with a few broken bolts on the manifolds. By chance Jim Kral had just stopped by my local NAPA. He is a local guy (lives about an hour away from me) and has...
I have one of these: OTC ball joint separator
It is a life saver! I have used it on many ball joints and it out muscles my air hammer with a pickle fork 100 to 1. If you plan on doing ball joints you need one. I honestly look forward to an excuse to use it.
note: I have not actually...
Like others have said it sounds like you have a bad fuel pump. There is a fuel pressure port on the passenger side fuel rail on top of the engine, you can check for pressure there. If no pressure check the relay first.
A mechanic friend of mine says he changes his fuel filter every year...
I had this problem too. Weird intermittent problem, wouldn't shift in or out of 4WD when it happened, service 4WD light on dash. It was my switch. They are only about $35 from rockauto but I pulled mine out cracked it open and resoldered the headed on the circuit board. Never had another...
Around here the Honda's have all been messed with as well.
I would expect the oil to have a grey color to it if anything, not shaving or shine. You may have lucked out. Running low on oil is bad news though. Hope it works out.
I drive a '98 Chevy Prizm for my commuter. It's a good way...
As already stated extensions and swivels. I also used ratcheting box wrenches from the top. Patients is the best tool. When it's all done you will look back and think it wasn't really all that bad. It's just a couple bolts right? :)
Can't speak to the Flexalite fans but the Dorman fans are top notch. Looks totally OEM, perfect fit and run much quieter than the stock belt drive fan. Best mod ever! (I'm running the Blackbear harness) I'd buy them again in a second.
I had basically the same thing happen on mine. From what I could tell it sounds like it's a fairly common problem. It's the dash switch assembly that's the bad part. You can order a new one from rockauto.com for about $35. I cracked mine open and resoldered all the pins on the connector and...
I bought my 2000 with 220K and a bad transmission about 6 months ago (one owner, no hitch ever installed!). I ended up doing more than I planed on. Pan gasket, rear spider gears, and so on. The thing drove fine no noise from the rear diff but I cracked it open since the truck was new to me...
I'm new to the forum so I'm hoping this isn't a repeat.
I swapped the original cluster to add trans temp. I didn't want to have to send in the new cluster to have the ODO changed so I swapped the memory board from my old cluster in to my new one.
I'm not going to cover removing the...
I have had nothing but good results with AC Delco, NGK and Denso. I have had bad results with Bosch and E3's. It could have just been the application but I had a 3-5mpg drop when I tried the E3 plugs in my '98 4 speed and '99 3 speed Chevy Prizms. I returned them to E3 for a full refund after...
1st post, just bought a '00 a few months ago. I'm the second owner. It's got 220K and the engine is original. I got it for $2,800 because the original trans went out. I've only put about 500 miles on it but I love it!
