...got my truck back on the road. Transmission rebuilt and feels great! Shifts firm but not too harsh, front diff also rebuilt and the growling noise is gone!
Now waiting the snow to melt so I could get the 22's under the truck!
My front diff started to make big growling noise, I drained front diff oil and there was a handful of metal (from bearings I assume). Front diff is removed from vehicle and as soon as I get my transmission back together (still waiting for right parts), I'll dismantle front diff and have a look...
First I was supposed to tint those lights, but a while they look pretty good as is (mostly because the chrome bumper). I think if I'll paint the rear bumper black, then I'll get the tails tinted also.
Although my transmission project isn't going very well (wrong parts, delivery problems etc.), I got my LED tails from the States yesterday (8 days from USA to Finland, not bad). I had to install them today and wow - I like the new look!
Does this look like normal to you guys? This picture is from the rear end of my old 4L60E case. I was thinking if the transmission case has been welded or repaired with chemical metal some time - what do you think?
This is picture from my new transmission case (used "new", and looks like...
Only thing that's sure is that rear planetary didn't broke ;)

If last wednesday was the best day of my life (so far), today was the worst day of my life. We disassembled the blown tranny, and it looked... sad. Total destruction. Front planetary gear was blown and pieces were all over. It looks that only part that can be reused from this tranny, is the...
Light whining is normal, but if it's grinding noise, I suggest you to drain front diff oil (drain them to a clean canister etc. so you can see if there is metal in oil). My tahoe made a loud bang few days ago and after that there was loud grinding noise. There was almost a handful of metal from...
I was planning to remove front diff and transmission tomorrow after work. That in mind went shopping today. Now I have master kit with 7-clutch high friction plates (Raybestos or so), corvette servo kit, 5-pinion rear planetary, high friction band and some gaskets etc.
Tomorrow I should also get...
I work for a local GM dealer, so I think I'll get the tranny rebuild with very reasonable price... still it's not gonna be cheap...
JD: I don't think that we have this thing called "dealer license" or "dealer plates" except for tax-free vehicles here in Finland. And I'm not trading/selling...
