    Tech2 questions, Stabilitrack/TC issues 08 2500

Thank you. As I recall, the ABS light did come on. As for the miles, it just hit 200K and I do not know when the spark plugs were done, I got it 1.5 years ago and it was from a dealer. I have had an intermittent CEL on. It gave a code for one of the O2 sensors. I replaced all 4, but it still...

    Tech2 questions, Stabilitrack/TC issues 08 2500

So, let me start by saying that I started by searching. However, this has lead to more questions than answers. First off I have a 08 2500 Suburban, 6.0l, 4x4, etc. Last week when returning from the Airport the Stabilitrack and traction control messages came up. This happened right after...

    Locker for 2008 2500?

I have had this 2500 Suburban for over a year now and I have discovered that I just can't replace it with anything better available in the USA. Well, that and I don't want a $1000+ a month car payment. Other than a weekly commute to the airport where I fly off to work, I use this Suburban for...

    New here w/ 11 Hoe Mountain/overland build

Welcome to the forum. I love that you Overland your Tahoe. I do the same with my 2500 Suburban and they do great. My only mod is a slightly larger tire and a hidden winch. Every other mod is camping related. Good looking truck BTW.

Great, thank you. This is the info I needed. I will start looking for one.

Tell me why I need a Tech 2.

I have been doing a lot of reading and see posts about the Tech 2. Please help me understand why I need one. I have a 2008 2500 Suburban with 6.0L. It has no air ride, no stability control, etc. What will it do for me that a regular OBDII won’t do? Please understand I know very little about...

    Retrofit Headlight opinion???

Hey, now that is offensive! ;) I normally try to keep my West Coast origins a secret as my political leanings are polar opposites from the majority. I’ll forgive you, as long as you are a Tahoe/Yukon fan, you are OK in my book. Back on subject , I put new headlights in my burb’ and have not had...

    nbs, nnbs what?

Yes, this comes fro GM offering the Old Body Style in some trucks while offering the New Body Style at the same time. GM referred to them as Classic, but the nick names OBS and NBS just stuck. GM is not the only one, I rented a Ram recently that was a 2021, but the previous generation body...

    Retrofit Headlight opinion???

I thought about the Blacked out look, but I’m not sure I like the way it makes the lights look so small. As for the earlier offense. I read all the way back to the first posts and it seems the offense came from talking about Blacking things out, and a picture posted of Uncle Ben, who is black...

Looking for a 2000-2014/New member looking for a Tahoe/Yukon and some good advice for towing!

Just throwing this out there, are you happy with your current trailer, or do you see yourself outgrowing it in the near future and getting a larger one? Any more kids in the future? Large Dogs? Things to think about before you buy. You will never regret the extra space that the XL or Suburban...

2022 Build Availability and MicroChip/SupplyChain issues

I was recently in Detroit for work and spoke to a local connected to GM. He was saying to keep things rolling and people working they are building trucks, then pulling the control box(with the chip issue) out and building the next truck. They keep swapping parts from one truck to the next. They...

Dorman vs. OEM GM coolant "T's"

What are the sizes of the hoses? 3/4 at the heater core? 5/8 heater hose? And 1/2 for the rear heat? Are both the same size? The billet one is only shown in one configuration.

Dorman vs. OEM GM coolant "T's"

I agree. If I am going to spend $180 on fittings, I want to to be factory replacement design, I don’t want to have to jury rig them to fit. I can make my own out of steel for a fraction of that cost. For now I will just use the OEM and keep the Dorman in the truck as spares. After all, the OEM...

Dorman vs. OEM GM coolant "T's"

I got this 2008 2500 a month or so ago and when I got it, it had a leak from one of the coolant T's at the heater core. After some research and several YouTube videos I knew I needed to replace the T's. I ordered some Dorman parts and installed them. To get the old one out, I bent the aluminum...

Need help with Tow Hooks for a 2500

I am a bit confused by the tow hooks for my truck, a 2008 2500 Suburban. I have searched on the web and every time it seems to pull up tow hooks that say 1500 even when I ask for 2500. Sometimes it will find the same hooks, with no 1500/2500 description. Are the tow hooks for the 1500 the same...

Great, thank you. That is what I was hoping for.

    AFM on a 2008 2500?

I have read some confusing information. I have read that the 2007-2009 have no AFM, I have also read that they do. Someone said the 6.0l does not have it, other say it does. So, does the 2008 2500 with 6.0L have AFM or not, and how to I know? I also read the 2008 2500 had a 4 speed, but I...

FYI Folks in CA & Maybe other States AAA won’t let you in the Tow Truck

I had this happen in California when I blew the engine in my Subaru. The driver was going to leave me on the side of I-5 out in the middle of nowhere. He offered to let me sit in the car with it on the deck of the truck! I finally talked him into letting me sit in the back seat of his 4 door tow...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Found a small coolant leak at the heater core connection. A quick YouTube search and I found that this is a major issue. I ordered 2 new T's, and both hoses. I will feel much better when they are replaced. Other than that, just driving and racking up miles.

To lift or keep stock?? Shock suggestions

I would have to disagree. I try to keep things as stock as possible because every change comes at a cost. With some exceptions, the more stock the vehicle is, the longer it will last. However, lifted or lowered does look cool.

    2008 Yukon XL 2500 questions

They did it when the Tahoe/Yukon were added. To me, it’s still a Suburban no matter what the badge says.

The right price for Suburban 2500 6.0L?

I just got a 2008 2500 with 176k and I paid $14k for it. I had to drive 200 miles, but worth it. It is in excellent condition with only the normal issues for a 12 year old truck. (Hazy headlights, 2 worn radio buttons, etc. ) Look on the west coast, not salt used and they are popular here.

    2008 Yukon XL 2500 questions

Thank you. I do have some from home now too. I like the 3 pass front seat, it allows me to remove the center part and add a 12V fridge someday and not have to cut anything of make it look like parts are missing. I also really like the cloth seats, very comfortable. I had to drive it 200 miles...
