Purchase incentivized new 2011, or wait for redesign?

15 mpg isn't a big jump from 12-14. What I found out that shocks people is when the gas pump starts to top $100. Personally I don't care as I bought our Denali because it is safe for my wife and people tend to avoid her. If you don't care about spending $100 a tank of gas that will get you...

    Prices going down?

Some dealers tend to try to keep up the prices then screw you on a trade in.

Purchase incentivized new 2011, or wait for redesign?

I wouldn't buy a 2012 for more than invoice right now. Dealer gets his breaks later on. With a 2011 they would have to be thousands below invoice to even get me thinking about pulling the trigger. Reasons - Current design is in its 6th year, not modern one bit. The...

    Denali high idle?

There are a lot of videos on you tube about it. Generally disconnect the MAF sensor and remove the air box and intake tube. Spray the MAF sensor with its specific cleaner. With the throttle body you take off the intake tube there, hold the plate open with a screwdriver and spray away. Stuff...

    Yukon Denali Fail

6000 lb vehicles are usually not that good in deep sand.

    Denali high idle?

That are the MAF might be a little dirty. I cleaned my MAF this weekend. I was about to do the throttle body but I ran out of time. MAF was slightly dirty and I have 43k. It seems to idle better (around 550) now. Get some MAF cleaner and also some Throttle Body cleaner at the parts store...

    New Shoes for the Denali

Wife was driving to work last night in heavy snow and the RF Bridgestone on my Denali just blew out. She was driving around 30 mph. Tires have 43k miles on them. So I took it to the FS/BS dealer only to find out they would not cover them because I didn't buy it from them and because she...

Help Deciding on Next Ride ...Update: Bought!

Nice Denali, looks exactly like mine. I love the White Diamond Tricoat, not a color you want to match up though. I still have the stock 20s on mine (an 09), we averaged about 17-19 mpg on a long trip from Utah to NYC/Philly. I've driven thru 6 inches of snow without a problem. I have about...

    factory alarm

I have both without any issues since last May besides the heater duct fell off when I was driving. I'm knocking on wood though.

Thinking about buying and have some questions

Denali is the way to go. RWD only isn't the best thing for snow so if that is a big concern then go with AWD. Denali AWD is real good on power and fantastic in the snow. Gas mileage is around 18 hwy. If power is not a big concern then you could probably get closer to your 23mpg figure with...

    Wind Noise

Doors are pretty heavy. I heard the hinges go bad once in a while due to the weight or maybe it was installed wrong. It definitely sounds like something is not aligned. How are the gaps compared to the other side?

    Maintenance....

3k per oil change is too often unless you go off road a lot. I would change the transfer case fluid (50k miles recommended by GM) and auto tranny (GM says severe service is 50k miles which includes city driving, hills, hot/cold temps, etc). Wouldn't hurt to change the dif fluids. Forget...

2009 Yukon Denali with 39,000 miles. Should I buy?

Denali definitely moves pretty quick for a vehicle its size. It also has a nice exhaust note.

    accident - diminished value?

I agree! What was the cause of the accident? Was the other driver not paying attention, texting, distracted otherwise?

    Diff whine at 40mph

Dealer should not be able to decline a warranty claim because of using Amsoil. It sounds l like the same problem I had on my 05 CTS V. It got so bad they replaced it at 1k miles. (I only owned it for 300 miles at the time). The noise came back but GM wouldn't replace the axle again because...

    Tahoe Cabin Filter?

GM definitely screwed up by leaving them out. I don't even think the Escalade has one and they are definitely considered luxury SUVs. My 4 year old Impala SS has one and it definitely is not luxury.

    accident - diminished value?

I know from experience my insurance company wasn't going to do a thing since it was the other driver's fault. I could have had it repaired under my insurance then they would go after his but not for diminished value. As I mentioned above, check local laws. In some states you cannot claim...

    accident - diminished value?

In order to total the vehicle it must have about 75% of its value in damage. Not trade-in value either. This is when your vehicle is worth more than it is. Research diminished value laws in your state. My 07 Impala SS was hit on the side that caused $7500 of damage (valued at $18k)...

I'm back and it's not pretty. Vandalism #2

This is pitiful! Too bad the bullet didn't come back and hit him/her standing right in front of your vehicle. Be careful with owning a gun. It would be tempting to shoot someone that is screwing up your vehicle but you'll most likely end up in jail especially if it is in a common parking...

Is this a good price for a 2012 tahoe LTZ 4x4 loaded?

These vehicles are not worth $60k. I personally think the price is high especially if you have the GM card. Price of gas is bad so these vehicles do not sell well when it is bad. I paid $55k for my 09 XL Denali AWD back in 2009. It is worth around $38k trade in now according to Edmunds...

Active Fuel Management on 2007 Nali?

Correct that is what I meant. I know my 2009 Denali does NOT have AFM. My 07 Impala SS with the 5.3 does have AFM, as did my 06 Envoy Denali with the 5.3. As I mentioned before it rarely stayed in V4 mode unless I was going downhill or coasting but then a V8 doesn't use much more gas anyway.
  24. P

Active Fuel Management on 2007 Nali?

Started in 2010 so probably not. GM sets the AFM to engage with only very light throttle application. You are not using much in V8 mode coasting compared to V4 and it'll quickly go out of V4 if you go even slightly uphill, accelerate or into a strong wind.

    Oil Consumption

Actually a Porsche is around 1 qt per 1k miles. I looked at a Cayman back in 08. I asked the dealer why they put cubbies on both sides of the engine (since it probably gets hot there). He said to "Store the extra quarts of oil." Needless to say I didn't buy it and bought my Corvette for...
