Yeah, BMW maintenance isn't fun...but to pay a shop for parts and labor? No thanks, I'll take my chances.
I did a lot of work to that damn thing...even rebuilt the transmission valve body after being told by a shop that I needed a new $6000 transmission. Googled the issue, found what I...
I spent all day doing my research, and buying parts. I'm confident I can tackle this. Hell, I did the intake manifold on my old '93 740il. Just by looking under the hood of the Suburban, it looks like a cakewalk in comparison.
I got everything I need for about $150. I assume any...
Okay, so I bought it, and gave him the $7500 asking price. I checked KBB and figured it was a fair price. In fact, after calling him the first time, I noticed that he re-listed it for $8400.
I ordered the replacement buttons for the radio, as well as a keyless entry remote.
As I was driving...
I currently have a 96 Yukon, so I lurk a lot in the OBS section of the site. Oh, and yeah, I know this isn't a Suburban forum, but...close enough.
So, the vehicle is a '03 Suburban LT. 150k. Most of the bells and whistles, and it's going for $7500.
The good:
-Paint is in...
Hey guys, after driving my 96 Yukon the other day, I noticed a strong odor of coolant after walking by the front of the vehicle.
I popped the hood, checked the upper and lower radiator hoses, and anywhere else in the engine compartment that deals with coolant and didn't see anything.
The...
Wouldn't the ECU get the temperature from the same place, though?

...nevermind, I was reading 2K6TBSS response.
I'm seriously thinking about getting a set of these off eBay...they're cheap, and I think they'll look good. I've never seen them on our body style before, though. Do you know of any pics with them installed...
Okay, so my rear wiper switch gave up on life about 6 months ago. I currently have it rigged (read: carefully placed back together) in a fashion that allows me to turn it on and off. I have, however, ZERO washer functionality, and the thing will not park itself. It just stops in whatever...
Great, now you've got me thinking all kinds of crazy. The paint is REALLY dirty in some parts of the truck as well. What kind of buffer/power tool should I buy that would work both with the eraser wheel, and polishing pads?
Wow, thanks for the info. My only other concern would be that the rest of the paint on the vehicle has faded...but I guess with white, it won't be much of a difference
Ummm, I just used the img tags, I wasn't trying to link them, just display them in the message. They work now, but they didn't work this morning. Can you see the pics?
Okay, I washed her today...and, as promised, here are the pics. Just your run-of-the-mill 96 Yukon. I'm not particularly fond of the wheels, they were there when I bought it. I'd really like to find some late model GMC wheels.
Okay, somebody help me out with the terminology here...I see NBS, and OBS, and all that. I believe you're referring to the different generations of trucks, but I can't wrap my head around what the acronym stands for.
