I'm just ranting.. feel free to disregard..
I have a 15 Yukon, I recently; two months ago, I rebuilt the engine myself and had the trans done by a shop. Everything is great, I didn't have to go back into the engine at all once I was finished. I was pleased.. No errors; no lights, I handed it...
I'd replace it wit OEM stuff. It'll ride like new. The front shocks are super easy and the rear are equally as simple.
It's like a 2hr job, max.. Maybe 4 if you're quaffing beers and kicking tires with your buddies.
I started with my Ford 6.0 diesel, which is a simpler operating system in comparison to this Gen V stuff. I'll send you a PM and see if our schedules sync up.
This is the best Gen V training, bar none--> evansperformanceacademy.vhx.tv
I have a solid grasp of this and if you want I can walk you through all of this offline in a teams meeting.
There's a little more to it than just turning off DOD in the ECU. I can also share my logging channels and histograms.
This is the "Wife approved" trans shift template that I put...
I mean, if your wife doesn't approve that's one thing; and I get it, now might be the time to return it before it's too late. But returning it because of a mismatched shock? I'd just say you don't like it.
Did you do more than 1500 miles??? Across the country is more like 2400 miles.. And you...
I can vouch for the problematic 2015's.. I've replaced/rebuilt the -air con, engine, trans, GPS antenna, tail lights and shocks. And now a $700 head light is going bad.
You got the 125 point FREE inspection.. If you want the 150 point inspection; for the low low price of $29.99, they open their normally closed eyes and check the shocks and tire pressure. lol
Seriously though. None of what you describe would be a show stopper to me. Those pumps make noise.
Hit me up in the message and I'll explain how it all works if you're confused. There's the hardware J2534 adapter and software subscriptions.
This is the subscriptions--> www.acdelcotds.com

I don' t know to be honest. I have the 2015 Denali and it's head sets don't work. I've looked in the factory tool and didn't see any configuration for the headsets but it's not been a priority to chase it further.
Hi guys, I want to throw my name in the hat here. I live in Colorado, 80015.
I have the GM GDS 2, HP tuners, Auto enginuity- Ford, a clone Ford VCMII and a two channel o-scope
I did a little google-fu and I'll be damned, it lead me back to this forum.

Ok.. This hasn't been answered yet so I'm giving it a shot.
hard to start?
Fouled plugs and or mechanically gapped plugs
Chugging white smoke??
Coolant leak in the combustion chamber...
Reduced engine power?
This is due to the other obvious signs, by design
No idle?
Large vacuum leak.. or...
Hmm... This is a 'zen and the art of motorcycle maint' moment.. Do you let it go and replace the engine/parts when it tears up or do you fix it now?
If it wasn't such a clean truck, I'd let that sucker tick and smoke until it gave up it's ghost.
I fixed my stability errors with the GM diagnostics tool and updated the body controller firmware while I was in there. I was able to solve 90% of my problems with it so I guess was worth the price of admission.
Hey, check to see where the battery ground is located. It should be on the engine. And if there's a 2nd ground from the main bat cable, it should go to the chassis. I'd check the grounds on the back of the cyl heads as well.. and any others you come across.
Sales people aren't always the most truthful and the service dept didn't sell you the vehicle.. Often times, one needs to re-align their expectations with reality. And I'm speaking for myself as well.
I'll rephrase what I said... My warranty ran out and I bought the GM factory diagnostic tool so I don't have to go back to a shop or dealer.
I posted a link to the actual tool and the site to find the tech-line subscriptions.
I think there's an emotional aspect to the purchase of an American vehicle. Like Harley Davidson, no one buys an FLH because they're the best at what they do.
I have the flow master 70 series 'big block' muffler on my 15 Yukon.. I like it.. It's a mellow rumble. And... I can hear my wife coming from up the street.
Here's the article.. Is there a way to decipher what the date of the change was? Same with the historical error codes.. it's all there.
