I cycle the key several times before trying to start (after it has set over night) and it will fire for a second and that's all, cycle some more, another quick fire, it does this for at least 6 tries. Once started it runs great. It has set for quite awhile and the problem has just gotten worse...
I had 2 new ones from Napa work for a week, the last one passed resistance test, ordered one from an Oregon GM dealer and it says made in China on the back, it passed too, still no worky.
Talked to a local shop about scanning it and he said they never use aftermarket switches. Dealer wants $135 for one, holy cow, if it works I guess it's worth it
The guy at NAPA called the company tech line and they said the module can send too much voltage to the switch and burn it out, both new switches only lasted a week or so and I only used the switches long enough to see if they worked. I guess I need to call NAPA again. I'll try holding a button...
I finally got the grounds cleaned up and tested the switch. I'm getting 5 volts to it and ohms test checked out good, still no lights at the switch and it still does nothing
I appreciate the help, I'm a former mechanic with health issues and can't get around like I used to. I'll try to check the ground first, then check the voltage at the switch. Thanks
The new switch lasted two weeks, put in another new one, it lasted two weeks. Napa called the companies tech line and they said the control module is probably feeding back to the switch and burning it out? Anybody ever hear of such a thing?
05 yukon does not go into 4wheel drive, lights on the switch are all usually off, yesterday on the hyway, the 4low light came on, a scanner shows the computer is getting a signal from the switch, but that's all it says, any ideas?
