What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This guy in Fort Walton Beach, FL works on clusters before 03. I'd ask him. I know he adds trans temp guages to 99-02 clusters etc. He is on YouTube as Fixed Until Broken, the about page has his email address and FB. He's the one i had add my transtemp gauge Friday- i went to his house and...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Ordered the newest model intermediate steering shaft and replacement bearing, this time AC DELCO. Got impatient and went against my rule of not using dorman like a week ago and it clunks again already. ☹️ Hopefully adding transmission temp gauge tomorrow.

Intermediate steering shaft and bearing fail

Replaced the stupid bearing with a other dorman, no dealer had oem bearing in stock for 50 miles and I had to get it done today. Careful this time not to pop out the bearing, and it is nice and tight this time. Hopefully it lasts. The dorman ISS was fine.

Intermediate steering shaft and bearing fail

Wow fun enough to get it in there, taking BACK out was really a PITA. It came out in three pieces, the green part, the bearings, and the plastic race retainer (?). Fun times with a pick once those last two pieces were inside the column with a shaft in the way. It sure I wanna try another...

Intermediate steering shaft and bearing fail

Well i replaced the ISS and the plastic bearing thing inside. Now it’s 3x as loud and clunks a lot more lol. Maybe the actual bearing came out of the plastic thing when I was working in there? The whole shaft knocks and wobbles with my hand when I’m down there, just grabbing and shaking with my...

    Wheel Bearing?

As long as it isn’t really full of rust, you just need a big socket etc. no real tools to buy, auto zone or advance etc will loan you the tools you need for free.

    2003 Yukon SLT still coding

Is the intake gasket leaking. You could do a test, using propane, carb cleaner, wd40, etc. spray it around the gasket while running. If it revs up a little, it’s leaking. I think this “extra air” coming after a lot of the sensors could explain your lean condition.

Using Dexron VI instead of Dexron III

That’s why I’m here, to see if “should” works out for you. Mines 191k and I doubt the PO changed it.
