Dang sorry it wasn’t just an exhaust leak. I fixed a v8 Lexus with a tiny leak and p0430 that the dealer estimated the owner $2300 for new cats and sensors lol.
Well the seats looked great but he has to get the plastic covers shipped before I would buy them, he just moved here and that box didn’t make it. Good deal for $150 if he gets them I’ll be happy, and my kid will like to be able to recline some on trips
Send a leaf blower or reversed shop vac up the tailpipe and start spraying soapy water at every exhaust joint. Any tiny leak will blow bubbles, if it has a leak by the cat or 02 sensors, can easily cause this code
anything I should look out for if if I buy some captains chairs out of a Tahoe to go into my Yukon (SWB)? Both are 2005 models. For example, different bolts, anything I need to make sure they come with etc, or how to verify? Thanks.
Are the headrests interchangeable between bench and captains...
Yeah I’m gonna avoid the recirc one hopefully. It squawks every once in a while. If I have to, I’ll do the evaporator core and any thing else that in there
Did the mode door. Tired of randomly having only defrost, usually when it’s super hot or I’m on a trip. Recalibration always fixed it, but it just happens again at some point. That top screw is a real PITA to get back in. Hopefully I’m done with this for a while. I figured I’d go ahead and put...
Swapped out the factory Bose amp. Now I have music (other than my aftermarket sub) again yay. And the key in ignition, headlight, and seatbelt dingers all work again. Pretty easy job. For the front two amp screws, I used the ratcheting offset 7mm wrench pictured, plenty of room without cutting...
Got in and no sound at all today. 05 Bose with a Sony radio that’s worked for a few years fine. Also no seatbelt or key in ignition dinger either. Smells like fried electronics. Sony radio works fine, even steering wheel controls etc still work. Hooked up an external speaker to its RCA outputs...
Maybe yours is like in this video where he theorized the foam is gone, allowing it to overrun and mess up. This guy is good, not your normal YouTube hack (like me )
One easy check you can do for a/c problems is shine a black light at the condensation puddle that drips under the truck when the a/c runs. If it glows green, the evaporator core is leaking. See that on the car wizard recently. I would hate to have to that job on these trucks.
Doing some touchup with the AC delco paint pen that was on sale for $14. So far just cleaned the rust out and applied the white. Gotta rub it out and clear still. Probably did 60 spots so far , probably 45 behind the rear wheels
In between coats of paint sealer, I thought I’d give a LONG LONG TERM update in my application of the cerakote on the black trim. I applied it in like March of 2021 or something. I can’t believe how well it has held up. NO reapplication or ANY other products applied since, just washes of the...
Letting the tank down is easy and gets it all out in one day, especially if you’re already down there disconnecting lines., there’s not much to else to it
I tried blowing my lines out - there were charcoal pellets all the way up to the purge valve under the hood lol. While I was able to get some out, I ultimately had to drop the tank in the driveway to fix it completely.
I found the passenger side horn (high tone) wasn’t working. Hooked up a test light and the wiring was good. Unbolted the horn and tested it anyway. Um, it worked. Put it back, and it works now. Huh, whatever works I guess. Was just about to order a hi tone and add a cheap air horn, but...
I noticed one of my horns isnt working today. Sounds weird! Can’t decide if I will just find one at the junk yard or buy something aftermarket or what, I’ve kind of wanted a little louder for a long time anyway. Not air horns or anything, but a lil louder
