Purchased a 2007 Yukon XL, now to make it reliable!

Did you set the spacing on those new shoes to .026 inches of space between the shoe and rotor with your brake drum gauge? Did you disable the parking brake actuator before doing this? Hoping all goes well and your violating the procedures doesn't cost you headaches and time. My wheel studs...

Fluid level good and not smelling burnt? How old is the fluid? If you do not have a bi-directional scan tool for diagnosis, take it to the dealership. The dealer will tell you exactly what's wrong, it might need major repairs or it might need a new TECHM. You can rebuild the TECHM on your...

Those are your parking brake shoes. As long as your parking brake is working, no.

Same here. Check the plugs, make sure they are tight too. @YukonGold12 Don't forget to change your transfer case fluid too. I just had to replace a hub. It did not make noises in turns this time, just noticed a slight vibration above 75 mph and suspected that the tires needed balancing. No...

    Won't move in 2wd

No pics, I always forget to take them and it's been slow going due to my health. The 9.5" AXN axle from the GMT900 SUVs is nearly a direct bolt in in your generation. You may need a conversion joint or new yoke as they came with 1355 and yours may be 1344 or 1310, don't remember. As far as...

    P0430 code

That cat will likely continue to degrade, fuel mileage will go down and as it breaks apart you may hear a rattling noise at idle. Worst case is that it will cause lugging or stalling. I considered hollowing mine out or putting in an off-road Y-pipe but remembered that I didn't like the stinky...

    P0430 code

P0430 is not for a sensor, it's because the cat is dead or you have a massive exhaust leak on that side. Nothing else. Aftermarket sensors don't play well with the computer system. Bad sensors have their own codes.

Looking to buy a work truck. Need expert assistance.

2008-2013. The 2007s had a 4-speed transmission. 2009 introduced hands free bluetooth for your phone and the integrated trailer brake controller as standard. 2010 introduced the L96 engine which is FlexFuel capable. 2012 introduced trailer sway control, hill start assist and other towing...

Looking to buy a work truck. Need expert assistance.

Incorrect. The L92 was available in the 2008 Tahoe in RWD only, very few made. The 2009 LTZ Tahoe had many hundreds made in RWD and 4WD with the L9H. 2010 GMC Yukon XL was also found with the L9H engine, not a Denali. Very few made but they show up a few times a year. The 2500 Yukon XLs and...

    Fuel Pump assembly collar

If the ring is warped/bent, it is supposed to be replaced. 10325852 or TR26. Then it is supposed to be loosened and tightened with J-45722, not a drift and hammer.

    08 Tahoe Vibration - SOLVED

Do you feel the vibration strongest in the seat or through the steering wheel? How old are the tires? Are the tires aired up evenly and is this test done when the tires are warmed up? Leaving the transfer case in AUTO will wear it out soon enough. When was the last time all the differential...

    P0449 code

Never heard that one. The first thing we normally do is replace the vent solenoid. Sure, you can test it with a scan tool or with a test lamp and voltmeter but why bother?

    Useless Information

Tom, have you been doing oil analysis that included each of those oils? I didn't even notice it at first, that the ACDelco oil lowered the metal in the oil compared with Mobile One.

    Can anyone recommend catalytic converters?

That's exactly the conclusion I came to with you back then, the CARB number adds to the cost increase and the hardware performs the same.

    Can anyone recommend catalytic converters?

Back around 2019 or so I realized that I had put federal cats on my California car. I tried unsuccessfully to ask Magnaflow, Walker and GM what the difference was and nobody would answer. They all looked EXACTLY the same at the time. Now, the Magnaflow CARB cats look like GM OE and there is a...

    Fuel injection service

It's mostly a profit center for the dealership. Echlin hooked up directly to the fuel rail does clean injectors very well though and can help those engines that are fed a steady diet of low quality fuel. Chevron's Techron in the little bottles is also very good at cleaning the injectors.

I am my vehicle's warranty. I refuse to be held hostage to the fear of a warranty being cancelled or denied because I work on and modify my own vehicles as I see fit.

    2009 5.3/6l80 swap to 2011 L94 6.2/6l80

I can only imagine that there may be some connectors with different length wiring as improvements or because of the taller injectors and rail over the older versions. However, we have seen plenty of posts of people using their original harness on all manner of donor engines. The 2013 Yukon...

    Won't move in 2wd

Nope, the brackets are different as the 2500s use leaf springs out back. I'm one of two doing the swap currently. Some have already done it.
