    Questions on Suburban lift.

No problem! Make sure you get some before and after shots of the lift and post them up.

    Questions on Suburban lift.

I learned something new. I've never seen that before. Hopefully someone else chimes in to help ya out. Just a quick thought, if a guy could load up the atvs on the trailer and see how much it squats now you could figure out how much rake to keep.

    Questions on Suburban lift.

At 3.5" I think you would throw the geometry of the front end off with just the spacers alone. I haven't lifted a suburban at all so take it for what it's worth. Also I've never heard of putting a spacer at the top and bottom. Usually it's one or the other. There's a reason why rough country...

how to protect your rig from salt damage??

They salt the crap out of the roads here in Wisconsin. Every spring and fall I'll wash the undersides really well and then touch up any rust I find with rust preventer. Then a week later go back under the vehicle and spray fluid film every where I can including removing tail lights and spraying...

Spark Plugs keep fouling & P0172 code

Is everything you've replaced so far oem parts? A lot of aftermarket sensors don't work very well or work for long.

Replaced my transmission thermostat with a lower temp thermostat

Must be made up by a bunch of angry wives whose husband's spend too much time out in the garage/shop "fixing" things that aren't broken. My wife might be the leader in that push.

    Towing stability

Doesn't your radiator have a built in cooler for the trans?

Replaced my transmission thermostat with a lower temp thermostat

All while making the vehicle itself more expensive to purchase. Someone had to spend time to engineer, design, and manufacture all of these parts or systems and there's no way gm, Ford, dodge, etc are footing the bill for it.

Suspension Maxx rear level - inside rear view mirror

Is it possible to relocate the rear view mirror? If you could lower it on the windshield it might help. Another option would be to lower the front to get the rake back.

Replaced my transmission thermostat with a lower temp thermostat

Just my opinion but I believe most of the companies added them as a way to squeeze out every fraction of mpg they could get to appease the epa. Same with all of this cylinder deactivation stuff. Even an extra .10 mpg doesn't seem like a lot to one person(one vehicle), but add that up over the...

2020 Yukon SLT - Maintenance Interval Question

Kind of funny to me that they are making oils to go longer and longer between intervals but thanks to the epa and all this cylinder deactivation garbage we are going backwards (somewhat) to shorter oil change intervals. I change mine every 5k in our 5.3 suburban and 6.4 (ram). Both have 4 popper...

    Towing stability

www.tsbsearch.com/Chevrolet/21-NA-199 If gm went through the trouble to replace the original 19x degree thermostat in the trans with a cooler one, one would think any temp over the 194 or 195 would not be good for the transmission.

Suspension Uogrades: Leveling Kits vs Lift Kits

Did you ask or take it back to the shop that installed it and get their take on it? Did you get an alignment afterwards? Any pictures of the truck and cv angles?

2020 Yukon SLT - Maintenance Interval Question

If you don't know how or want to do some of the things yourself I'd look for a good local shop/mechanic to do the work. Should be a lot cheaper then a dealership. If they've never been done I would highly recommend getting the trans, transfer case, front, and rear end fluid changed...

    Battery Replacement a Professional Job?!

The professional only part is them covering their arse on their free installation. Meaning they won't do it. If it's not a disconnect negative, positive, undo battery hold down, remove, and install new battery in reverse order they consider it professional only. Which I don't blame them. I...

    Towing stability

Dry weight of campers doesn't really mean anything. On most campers it doesn't even account for batteries, propane tanks, awning(s), etc. I really wish I would have stopped at a scale the day we picked up ours a few years. I've read of some campers being 400-800lbs over on listed dry weight when...

Yet another Yukon with engine tick and low oil pressure

It's cheap enough and works...

    Very Rough Ride

Did you try installing it? It could be that the spring on the new one compresses easier ( longer but yet softer spring) but once on with the weight of the vehicle on it, it would still give you the same ride height. Not saying that's what it is that would be my guess if they're the correct ones...

2023 Suburban - crack in the front camera -dealer says not covered under warranty

If you have a good relationship with the dealer they maybe would warranty it. Or try a different dealer. For $145 I'd probably just replace it myself. It sucks but it is what it is. Situations like yours or my favorite the so called "rust" warranty living in a state that uses salt on the roads...

    Expedition Max to Yukon XL?

For the climate! Although the climate doesn't pay for my repairs so my trans thermostat is deleted and I run 5w30 in the 5.3.

    Expedition Max to Yukon XL?

I'm not well versed in fluids but I don't think it's all about the flash point. I'm sure the fluid loses some of it's properties well before the flash point. Along with other parts of the transmission (seals, gaskets, etc) before the flash point of the fluid is reached. Just a quick search shows...

    Expedition Max to Yukon XL?

As @Marky Dissod mentioned that fluid needs to changed asap and it's possible no amount of flashes or reprogramming could save the way it shifts.

Why the switch to big rims?

Mainly for looks is my guess. We have 18s on our suburban and they look a little small compared to the rest of the vehicle. I do like the 18s though for more sidewall since we live on a gravel road and the country roads are pretty bad in our area. If buying from a dealer you could see if they...

Any tips on bug and road tar/gunk remover?

Clay bar is what I've found works the best for getting road gunk and bugs off, especially the little yellow "rust" spots that are common on white vehicles, but you'll need some type of running water which depending on the temps where you're at might not be possible even with this heat wave here...
