2001 Tahoe roof rust rot under roof rack

The rails come off pretty easy with a bunch of Allen bolts. If you live in a road salt area, then I'd address it with a light sand, prime, paint, and clear. Being on the roof it doesn't have to be perfect.......only semi drivers will be able to critique your rattle can skills. If you don't...

    Cheap eBay turbo kits…

It's not that easy. You'll probably have to find a cobalt ss ECM that has the pin out for a turbo. You need the ability for the ECM to see feedback on boost so it can adjust timing and fuel flow. Maybe I'm all wrong, but that's what I know/have talked to people who have done them.

    22" Recommended Tire Pressure

Yes, otherwise any lower PSI and it looks/feels like there is no sidewall available. I've tried the 32 psi setting, but all it yielded was more rounding of edges and not much improved ride. 22 inch wheels just don't do it for me anymore. It's my wife's DD, that's why they are still on...

2020 Yukon.A/C not working, low pressure PSI is at 20, and just gets lower when I attach the Avalanche AC Recharge…

That is bananas.....I can't believe those lines failed in 4 years, possibly 5. My suggestion to you would be to rust proof the heck out 9f the new ones with some fluid film. Keep The crp from getting into the rubber grommet holders

    Cracked Sun Roof?

I've off roaded my 2008 Denali all over the west on multiple back roads, washboard sections, etc and never once had an issue with the sunroof - never crossed my mind actually. Being that the roof is a pivotal structure safety area, I don't see how you would develop enough flex to crack...

    Tunning and dealership issues

Depending on the scenario, I can't see it as a problem. If it's only AFM shut off, they probably won't even notice. It's not everyday that computer updates need to be done. They look for codes, etc. One thing toggled off probably won't even show up.

I swapped wheels from another same year Tahoe, can I learn onboard?

Probably good to go. But, you could do the tire pressure/tire location procedure - not sure on that year off the top of my head, but that may help confirm it's all good.

    New guy from No. Illinois

Good to know about the ethanol values. I was actually thinking similar blends to try and counteract the crappy winter blend fuels that lower performance and mpg

    New guy from No. Illinois

I also live on the WI/IL border. Born and raised in IL, then skee-dattled at 20 years old to WI and never looked back. It's a good place to be FROM as @Fless said. I however worked in Chitcago for many years in field service. Done with that now and try to stay away from there. LOL

    New guy from No. Illinois

I currently run a 2008 6.2L Denali and I can tell you it loves a 25 - 30% blend of E85 and 87. You will get less MPG, but on par with normal 87 octane. Way less per fill up, channels the internal animal of the engine, and smells good. I can't justify premium to get just 1 more mpg. I'll enjoy...

    New guy from No. Illinois

That's a nice looking rig. I sold the identical year and color about 6 years ago. It was a rust free truck when I bought it down south in OK. I rust proofed the heck out of it and sold it as clean as I bought it at 227k. Funny thing is, I got a call from the WI DOT about odometer fraud...

Vermont Winter Coming: Help my 2012 Tahoe Body!

Yikes.......not much will help you there. Good bathing in fluid film will help slow the decay down, but not much will fix it beyond lots of time and money. And, at that point, it'll only last a few years. I'd throw the money at a new-2-u replacement from rust free area. Even the same year...

    Yukon vs Wagoneer Comparison

Based on what I learned in art class bout vanishing point, I don't think 12 to 18 inches is going to make much difference from 30 ft away. LOL. But, good catch!

    Yukon vs Wagoneer Comparison

I thought this was an interesting comparison......you don't really realize how much things have grown over the years. Ever expanding vehicles to house the ever expanding waistline of Americans. LOL, but seriously it's too bad.

2007 Suburban 2500 Suspension torque specs?

For shocks, good and tight works. Just a few ugga-dugga's on the 1/2" impact is good enough. You're just trying to hold it in place, squish the tabs close to the bushing and viola! You don't want to squeeze the bushing to death, it needs some movement. I would assume it has a metal insert to...

Is Dealer Blowing Smoke Up My....?

Electricity doesn't care if it's OEM or aftermarket if all things are equal. If you went from LED to incandescent, or regular bulb to a HID setup, then you may have issues with the circuitry based on load, etc. But, again, if like for like was replaced, then I don't see how an OEM one will...

Fuel efficiency drop in newer models ?

Another thing to add is this: most new engines have a richer running break-in period from new. Based on miles and time. The calibration is set to this to help protect the motor, seat the rings, etc. After 5k you will probably see more realistic numbers.

Fuel efficiency drop in newer models ?

CAFE requirements have probably driven new calibrations "for cleaner exhaust" that is usually achieved by burning more fuel and incorporating timing changes (it's absurd, but true). I'm sure there is additional weight on these newer vehicles due to increased crash protection requirements. And...

    Child windows over ride?

Depending on the year, I don't think there's enough room in the door to go all the way down with the wheel well curvature

It thank it's time to put it on a lift and look it over. CV axles possibly. Haven you tried moving the front tires to the rear and see if it follows?

    Afm

Of all the options presented, I have done both on my 2017. Used a RANGE for 100k. It worked just fine. Then bought HP tuners and turned it off because I wanted to poke around more in depth. I have a RANGE for sale of interested. PM me if you want more info.

Update: Brand new Tahoe left me broke down in heavy traffic

I'd say you are the current golf score winner on this topic if it is bearing related. What a total bummer....

How did you check the trans? Idling, hot, on level ground in park? Does the vibration change with RPM, or just speed? Have you tried running it through lower gears (keeping it in 2nd, then 3rd) to eliminate 4th?

    Yukon vs Wagoneer Comparison

Very nice write-up. Thanks for sharing. I had a wagoneer rental for a week this summer. I was impressed with the driving characteristics and the smooth power of the motor. The 8 speed trans was butter. I personally hated the center stack that controls everything via a touch screen.....just...
