    Determining Actual Mileage

Yep, according to NHTSA...... "If the odometer mileage is incorrect, the law requires a statement to that effect to be furnished on the title to the buyer. However, a vehicle is exempt from the written disclosure requirements if it’s 20 years old or older, or a model year 2010 vehicle or...

    6.0 Swap Time!

Did you try reaching out to them, see if they will work with you at all, even partially, since it's so close?

Blackbear tune... I'd like to hear from personal experience to set up

Yes, you use their tool to download the stock tune files from your PCM and email that file to them. Once you get your new PCM, you'll install it and it will have an initial modded tune file installed. After that, they'll have you run a data log and send them the data log to make any further...

Blackbear tune... I'd like to hear from personal experience to set up

I've used them 3 times now. Since I knew I'd be tuning a couple vehicles, I bought the equipment from them to save a bit in the long run. You download a couple apps to your laptop. They send you the Autocal V3 which connects to the laptop via supplied USB. A separate supplied cable connects...

How to Remove Service Air Bag Service Ride Control DIC Messages Permanently

You need to know which codes are setting in order to know what to do about the lights. Yes, the RTD fuse will work for the service ride control. I did that. Disconnect battery, remove fuse, wait 10 min, reconnect battery. You need to have codes read to find out why the SRS light is on...

    Climate control relocation

Simple enough, assuming it fits. Measure twice......... Make sure the control head will physically fit in that spot. Then it's just a matter of cutting the hole, securing it to the bezel in some fashion, and maybe extending wiring if need be. You'll probably have to glue it in place, because...

    Determining Actual Mileage

You said the carfax was showing estimated mileage? You're going to update mileage based on an estimated number? I'm a bit confused by that comment. Any modification YOU make to the odometer now, could potentially put YOU liable for odometer fraud. I'd just leave it alone, if you don't know...

    P0430 code

Guess I should have added that. Yeah, it will eventually "die". Die, meaning just what swathdiver said. You either have to replace it, or deal with the excessive noise and smell, and check engine light on if you don't get it tuned out. Some people have found ways around the downstream O2s...

2002 Tahoe has a misfire at idle

This code can be set by just about anything. Fuel, spark, compression or timing. You really need a scan tool that can read live data, or you're in the dark. You need to see misfire monitors to know what cylinders are misfiring and how bad. You need to see fuel trims to understand what kind...

    P0430 code

Yes, it monitors the efficiency of the converter. Basically, your upstream O2 measures the exhaust coming from the engine, then the downstream measures your exhaust after coming out of the converter, and the PCM compares the two readings. If the PCM doesn't see enough of a difference between...

    6.0 Swap Time!

It's the gears in the case making the clunking noise. I could replicate it once it was out of the vehicle too. But feels like a normal amount of play, I wouldn't be worried about it on yours.

    4WD to AWD Swap

Got the 246 pulled out, installed the 149. I'll have to post pics later on, but the 149 is about an inch shorter than the 246. So the rear driveshaft sticks out a bit more than it did, which will actually work out, since eventually this will get lowered. Now the kicker......... I need the...

    6.0 Swap Time!

I was removing my 246 today and noticed, yeah it has about that same amount of play on it as the one in your video did. You have a bit more on your plate going on right now, but thought I'd give you that bit of info.

    06 Silverado Crew Cab Build

I got the front axle figured out. Turns out, shifting to 4hi, and then unplugging the actuator will leave the front axle locked. I still will probably use a piece of PVC cut down to put in place, just in case the actuator would retract, I dont want to burn up my transfer case. The actuator is...

    01 Yukon Denali Build Thread

I got the sub installed, just a cheap one for now, one of those Planet Audio ones. I ordered 6.5 rear speakers, got the door panels off and realized, those are 5.25. So those speakers went in the Silverado since it had a couple blown speakers in it anyway. I still have to tweak the amp...

    Ignition Coils

Lil bit late here, but.......... Stick with stock coils. You likely won't upgrade your engine to the point that you need upgraded coils. The coils will handle even more than the drivers in the PCM that feed the coils will, so you don't need to worry about spark output. You'd be going to some...

    6.0 Swap Time!

I'll take a look at mine later today when I'm under there, to see how much movement is in mine compared to yours. Is the clunking noise coming from the T case or from the front diff?

    4WD to AWD Swap

It would do a check, but if the transfer case control module is unhooked, there's nothing to do the check. There may be some kind of a loss of comm in another module somewhere, but that wouldn't throw a dash light on the old stuff for loss of comm.

    4WD to AWD Swap

Yes, its motorized. The thermal was the old style. There is the "Service 4wd" message on the cluster, but once the module behind the switch on the dash is unplugged, that will go away.

    4WD to AWD Swap

I finally got the truck back home today to play around a bit. I pressed the 4hi button, heard the front axle actuator engage and confirmed the front axle is locked in. I then disconnected the actuator wire harness and it stayed engaged (seems it does not require a constant 12V to stay...

    4WD to AWD Swap

I want to use what I have in the truck currently to mimic the front axle from the Denali/Escalade Until I swap an AWD front axle in, I want to have this axle permanently locked in 4x4. This will make it function just like the front axle from a Denali/Escalade. I would just swap one in, but...

    4WD to AWD Swap

I know how the transfer cases function internally. I'll try to clarify what my plan is. I will be removing the 246 t case and installing the 149 t case. I will lock the front axle using the actuator, so it is essentially just like the denali/escalade front axle. Then remove everything...

    06 Silverado Crew Cab Build

Finally heard back from Blackbear about tuning, so that will get squared away soon. I have a guy pulling an AWD transfer case for me tonight, so I'll grab that this weekend. Still working on getting the front axle thing squared away. I have a test vehicle for work that I'm driving, so the...
