Oh yeah, I'm not overly concerned about that, the LS oil pans are tough. I just don't want to scratch the powder coating so I'll throw a microfiber towel over the block of wood jack extension.
I’m gonna weld it back up tomorrow, then Friday morning work on swapping the mounts, fill the system, pray it works, then finish the ranger engine swap. Turns out the ranger needs the AC system looked at too :Boo:
Also I’ve found that driving no AC and windows down tends to make me drive more aggressively. Today I got it to squeak the tires on the 1-2 shift with a trailer.
It is, back in spring when it leaked in stock configuration I welded where I believed it was leaking from. Turns out my welds are as bad as the OEM press fitting.
Funny I basically always buy cheap shit and it almost always works, this is one of the only OEM parts I’ve bought.
Huh maybe I need to try using the sloppy stranger for the next time I weld.
Yes I even have a lot of OEM washers and every single time I’ve had the lines off I replace them. Hard to get a good pic but here’s the washer that was just on it.
I’ve been in some cars that are that bad with poly mounts and I’m not sure what the difference is but…. My RCSB with the same cam had no vibrations greater than stock and my buddies 408 Denali is the same. That thing chops hard as fuh and with poly mounts there are no more vibrations than stock...
How miserable do y’all think swapping motor mounts one at a time without pulling the engine will be? I mean like not even having a hoist out just a jack under the oil pan at most.
Will be using Atomic poly mounts to swap OEM rubbers.
It’s got rear as well, I think I’m gonna try a few more things before I try to actually build a new line. I’ve never seen anyone else have these issues so something is not right and causing it.
First will be to remove and inspect the line better, it’s possible my weld failed or cracked.
Then...
I’m gonna put a go pro under the hood and see if the motors flopping like a fish. It looks fine when sitting still but maybe on those clutch dumps it’s getting jiggy
I’m so mad right now I can hardly see straight. This is officially the 4th time this line has leaked right here. What in the phuck is causing this? This is the third OEM line and it is welded this time. It’s lasted about 6 months since I’ve welded it and yes it leaked just a few weeks ago but...
It’s sitting on the trailer until he puts a starter in it, and realizes that’s not the issue, then pays someone to find the bad ground or whatever is causing the electrical gremlins stopping it from starting.
That’s the kind of sweet talking I needed to start this day off right. :elephant:
What ever helps tickle his pickle, what other people want to do to their or bodies is none of my concern. But I might stare at it if I think it looks funny.
