What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Fleabay. Gm parts places wanted too much (for my budget/I want other mods as well). Exercised patience and pieced together all the parts. Transfer case skidplates can be had for $30 shipped. M10x1.5x30 body bolts with captured washers took quite a bit of finding but were $16 shipped for 10...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Added new GM aluminum skid plates/splash shield/transfer case skid plates today. I'll be the only lowered rock-crawlin' Tahoe around! Just kidding--but it does give that extra piece of mind on job sites.

    Leveling With Bilsteins

I have those 5100s installed on my Tahoe with Z85. I love the ride! No troubles (not too much anyway) with install. They are a smidge long so they had to be persuaded into place. I am not using them to lift per se. I have some McGaughy's front 2" drop spring perches, which drop more than...

Which one--the plastic one or the aluminum one?

Skid plate for non lifted tahoes

Whoops. Missed that part. Sorry about that. I thought they had some for older trucks as well? I'll keep an eye out.

Skid plate for non lifted tahoes

GM makes skidplates for stock trucks. 23176881 is aluminum for the engine "splash shield", 20922755 is for the transfer case. Also need 12 @ M10x1.5x25 or 30mm bolts with captured washer.

Official Harbor Freight win or lose thread

Daytona floor jack -- the yellow 3 ton one = WIN. Nice floor jack I bought when my Craftsman started to act up. Probably the best floor jack I have ever owned. Polyurethane jack stand pads = WIN. They only peel half the undercoating off the frame when using jack stands instead of all of it!

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I got tired of my parking brake lines hanging low and rubbing my shock, so I rerouted them over the axle. Happy with the clean look and better angles!

They fit. Look at foreign Tahoes. Just have to get them with the right options.

    '15 LTZ Windshield Replacement

I have heard there are only a few companies left in the world that make auto glass. So dealers, safelite, and locals all get theirs from the same place. There is very little difference in quality. Just maje sure the mask fits your options (the black part has the right openings) and you will...

15 yukon 50k service and failing

I'd say that's $5k to a second opinion at another shop! At that money, ask them to show you specifically what they are talking about and will replace on the truck while on the lift. If not, go somewhere else. Never hurts to get a second opinion. Seems rather fishy to me.

Brakes: softer/mushier/harder to stop than NNBS?

Guess it depends on how many miles you have. I originally thought the brakes were poor and stiff. 30k later they stop very well and are much easier to modulate. Guess it just takes awhile for them to get bedded in. I still want a big brake kit, but over time these have gotten much better.

do cheap LT Memory Seats not auto adjust the outside mirrors?

If you have the memory seats, then the mirrors should as well. My LT does.

    Lift or tuck?

It is obviously a matter of personal preference. I've seen nice trucks both ways. As far as work, it is about the same to lift or tuck. I decided to tuck as I use my truck for work and have to constatntly get stuff out of the back. I didn't want dirty kahkis all the time (from leaning on the...

    Anyone else install new shocks?

They work for lowering and stock as well. They have a stock position. I have them raised to the third groove (up 1.2") with a 2" lowering spring cup for a total drop of 1.25"--the math doesn't work out but that is where the front sits in real life--34.75" to fenderlip. I agree the ride is...

The little things, make the biggest changes..

I like those painted mirrors! Were they hard and did you paint them on the car or off? How about a front 3/4 view? You're giving me some inspiration... Nice truck!

    New 2017 LTZ

I actually wanted a second row bench. I don't use the third row, and I'm usually carrying something in the back--something that I want to stay in the back and not join me in the front during hard braking or the like!

    Spare Tire questions -Tahoe

#1. Isn't the diff an electronic locker? I don't think 1.6% will throw it off that much where the computer will "lock" it. #2. I have the 20" wheels and tires and still have the 17" spare. I believe everyone gets the same size spare no matter what. I bought a Nissan Titan 20" steel wheel...

    Lowering and towing??

Be sure to adjust the autoride links depending on amount of lowering. Adjust those properly and the rear shocks will air up depending on load to keep the proper height.

    Adding HUD

The informational HUD cluster (with tach, speed, radio, etc...) is fed from the gauge cluster. So you would need the 8" DIC screen gauges for the HUD to work. A lot of people confuse the HUD with collision avoidance. They are both technically HUD, but one is just flashing red lights and the...
