    2000 Escalade console latch

Prototype work is going great. Once everything is tested and working as it should? I'll finish the detail and print at a finer setting.

    2000 Escalade console latch

Down the road a bit and I have most of the parts designed. A few more days and I should have the working prototype done. And NO. I will not release the STL files!

    2000 Escalade console latch

Started the base latch part that holds the lid down. I had to adjust the scale in 3Ds Max to match my slicer program. I figure I'm about 80% done with it after a few test prints. Now to source the springs and finish that part before starting the other 2 parts. I'll use some clay to do some...

    2000 Escalade console latch

Today I remove that top lid so I can start the measuring for the parts needed. I have none of the stock parts as the lid was screwed down and would not open. The first part I make will be the slider latch. That way I can get the scale and find proper springs. I'll also trace the shape of the...

    2000 Escalade console latch

I've started 3D modleing the release system for that pesky top lid latch. (If you have a broken system? You know what I'm talking about!) I found good pictures of the parts so plan to 3D Print them to fix my lid. Think I may put "Bomb Release" On that button. :laughing1:

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Pretty much looks just like it did when I bought it Tony. But I'll get some pics.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well. I did clean the 2000 Escalade a little bit. And changed the wiper blades after they kind of lost the rubber parts in a major down pour! That was a fun drive! A few months back replaced the WHOLE brake system front to back. Stainless Steel lines and such. Seeing as I retired a year ago...

    My 2000 Escalade found here

It was the Pitman arm and Idler arm that were bad. Wife says it drives GREAT now.

    My 2000 Escalade found here

Many think poly is the best upgrade for for areas such as the control arms and such. Not always true! Maybe as a simple 'Buy it and be cool' But there is a performance and longevity trade off. Poly is best for simple street exchange for the stock rubber stuff. Delrin AF? Self lubed with PTFE...

    My 2000 Escalade found here

That's just what the Wife told me. Not sure what actually needed fixed until I talk to my Mechanic. I just tell her to take it to him if it acts weird. I'm more into the Opel GT and getting the stuff for that. As an example I wanted really good front control arm bushings for the Opel. Now I...

    My 2000 Escalade found here

Will get pics when We pick it up from shop. It's a nice Caddy! Sure, some minor things to fix but a great example of a 2000! I like the looks. For a 2000? I think it was far ahead of it's time for style! One of those that just don't age. Seats in the Grand Am GT are whatever came in them. It is...

    My 2000 Escalade found here

Months later the Caddy is in the shop again. Front steering stabilizer needed replaced. Nothing surprising for a 21 year old car. Of course this happened when the Winter Storm dumped several inches of snow! On a side note I did pick up the HP Tuner stuff that will work with the Caddy. Main...

After some bargaining and wheeling dealing? It looks like a different Engine may be implanted. An inline 5 cylinder from a Colorado! L52 at around 220 HP. STOCK!

The 3.4 I'm building is a cast iron RWD lower end. That gets the FWD 3.4 aluminium heads and all intake systems from a Grand Am GT. A different cam and larger throttle body for the EFI. Plus a few other things I'm not remembering right now.

Anyway. It gets a 1" drop with the new wheels I ordered. https://esmwheels.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_64_73_93&product_id=64 Fronts are 15X7 for 205/50 15's Rear are 15x8 for 225/50 15's I've seen several GT's in my travels with those sizes and they work great and bolt right...

    1973 Opel GT build

So kind of a GM car. I bought a rolling Chassis. Fresh paint no interior or drive train. $1000 Shipping cost me another $650 I'm in the process of buying and building a 3.4 Chevy V6 to drop in it. Now a stock 1.9 4 cylinder is about 80+ HP A stock 3.4 V is about 180 hp. Swap some heads and...

    My 2000 Escalade found here

I'll do that ASAP. Right now I'm getting it set to go get undercoated. It came from a salt free area and Ohio is the King of dumping salt! I did replace the tail lights that were on it. Went back to stock from the Hurst looking ones that were on it! Also had USB ports installed so Wife can...

So. You may notice I'm not around much right now. That is due to business keeping me travelling A LOT! But I wanted to update you all about the 2000 I found in the classifieds here. Everyone that sees it can't believe the shape it is in for a 20 year old Caddy! I talked with grouch when I bought...
