Best way to lower my Yukon XL

Glad to help, but I'm only passing on information I've learned on this site. Having said that, be carful what you ask for. This site has saved me $$$ by showing me how to do repairs/mods myself, i.e. intake manifold gasket. But then it has also shown me mods that I never knew exsisted but now...

04 Yukon, can't get brakes bled.

Humm. I have an 04 Tahoe, hydroboost. I've replaced brake line, calipers etc, and never had a problem bleeding the system. I can't imagine how the hydro could cause a problem with bleeding the system. Never used the Tech2, have heard you need it for abs, but I still have a firm pedal. Master...

Best way to lower my Yukon XL

Oh, and if your going to do any towing or might in the future, get the helper air bags. Very easy to put in while the rear is apart and only about $80.....

Best way to lower my Yukon XL

Red Rocket won't steer you wrong. If you have some car savvy guys like you said, I'd order the kit and have a look at it. Then look to see what it takes to put it in. The rear is a piece of cake with the exception of the sway bar bolts. One of my NJ truck bolts broke. I spent more time on that...

    2/3 Drop Question

I did the the 2/3 drop, travel mod, but I wouldn't say the ride is OEM. On smoth roads it's fine, but once I hit some bumps, it bounces around more than I'd like.

2/3 Beltech drop ride help needed

They are brand new. Funny thing, when I ordered them through the dealer, I called them jounce stops. Parts guy had no idea what I was talking about. I then said "the front bump stops" He then understood what I was looking for.....

2/3 Beltech drop ride help needed

So today I change out the idler and pitman arms. Idler arm no too bad, pitman arm had noticeable play in it. Holy crap, what an improvement. Steering is much tighter and much improved feel. Haven't tried it on the highway with the bridge transitions, but I suspect it will be much improved...

    Unusual heated seat question?

i know is June and hot here in NJ, but I have a problem with my drivers side heated seat. Some mornings it's been cool, <50 degrees. Turn seat on, nothing, no heat, no light. Try passenger side, works fine. Drive 10-15 mins, heat works fine. After work, "cold" engine, outside temp >70 degrees...

2/3 Beltech drop ride help needed

I've had the truck lowered about a month, 400 miles. Ted, it is shaking from the front. I did not change the the pitman nor idler arms when I did the control arms. I'll check those as they are original, with 158,000 miles.

2/3 Beltech drop ride help needed

I installed the 2/3 kit on my 04 Tahoe with the street sport shocks, complete with shock extenders, free travel mod, and the proper rear end links. Running new to me 20" wheels, 31psi. Front end aligned, with new upper and lower control arms, rear air bags at 5psi. I like the look and ride on...

10 amp fuse good and I believe the fan plugs can only go on the proper fan but I will check that again. Thanks for the thoughts.....

    Knock sensor

Rachel, what brand sensors did you use? I used the AC Delcos and had no issues. I have heard of problems with other brands. Just an FYI.

    E fan help needed....

I did the efan mod on my 2004 Tahoe. Using the fans and harness from a Silverado, 2006?. In checking the operation, when I ground the green wire (temprature) both fans come on low. Check. When I ground the blue wire (AC) the drivers side fan comes on high, passenger side off.. Humm, I thought it...

    brake suggestions

The upgrade to the gm900 brakes is literally as easy as if you were replacing your stock pads, rotors and calipers. You need to run at least 17" wheels thought if I remember correctly. The new calipers will have the correct brackets, at least mine did.

    Knock sensor

You have an intermittent problem. Mine did the same thing but would only stay off for a few days. Needed to do the intake gasket anyway. When I took out the sensors, the front one looked good but the rear one not so much. It had a light coat of crusted rust around the base and the mounting block...

    Water pump gone bad.

Replaced mine around the same mileage. Not hard or expensive to do, especially if your buddy can help you out. Not all that uncommon.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

That's exactly how I did my upgrade lol. Then I added the 07 brakes. Makes a very nice package....

    Thinking of ditching 3rd row

Many of the manufactures of custom floor mats also make mats for the rear section, with or without the third row installed.. I have the third row removed with a full mat and it looks fine.
