Compared to what? It's much better than the stock cam across the board and is dirt cheap when it comes to cams. Even swapping to the front cam sensor and timing chain cover. The ls9 cam is a 33hp gain over the lsa cam for the Cts-v owners. I'd rather make more power across the band. I think it's...
Ls9 cam, smaller pulley, zl1 lid, and a good tuner you should be able to push 600 real quick. A friend and I are currently collecting parts for LSA 5.3s. He hopes to have his done by end of December and plans to be over 500hp with the 5.3. I'll be happy with anything over 400rwhp. Just wake up...
I'll hopefully finish the install on this sucker.
Horn blasters' tug horn. Air tank, compressor, switch for helper bags all installed. Just have to finish running the power wire and install the switch.
Yeah, if they didn't relocate the rear sway bar, it'd ride like a tank as the rear track bar bracket will be constantly slamming into the sway bar. I still need to do this to install my shorter end links.
Mine did that before the free travel mod and still a tad bit after the mod. I installed helper bags, run them at 5psi and it's back to smooth as butter. That's with a 5" rear drop.
The dash dye was SEM classic coat. Closest color they had in stock was 17263 Honda Classy Grey. It's damn close to the GM dark grey. I also used the SEM 38353 Plastic & Leather Prep spray. it's basically just a cleaner like mineral spirits, but it doesn't overly soften or distort the plastic.
Working on one of these my self. Depending on what you pay for the supercharger, you are looking at around $1500 in parts and tune. The coupler isn't all that hard to replace with the LSA off the vehicle, you just have to be careful prying the snout off. Hope to get mine done before the end of...
I'll have to grab the can at home tonight. I don't remember the brand. Got it from Keyston Bros. They happen to have a warehouse just down the road from me.
For the dash, I washed it with Dawn, then a degreaser with scotch bright pad, wipe with a precleaner, and let dry in the sun. I used the scotch pad to try to smooth out the flaking edges as best I could and used the precleaner again (specific cleaner before dye is applied). I coated the bad...
No more cracked dash! Found one in great condition, reinforced some of the areas where it broke on mine, added a fresh coat of dye and installed. Also grabbed the center console extension out of the same 01 tahoe. Something about a cracked dash that just drives me nuts. Now I just need to touch...
JK front end links. You have to offset the sway bar towards the passenger side. You also have to drill one hole and use new bolts to move the drivers side sway bar bushing/mount over as well. Find a shop that does Jeep lifts, they just throw out brand new JK front end links. Can't tell you how...
I was going to do the rebuild on my 96 vette's 4l60e. Then talked to a few guys and saw their tools. So I just dropped it myself, and paid a dude $750, and I put it back in. It was like 350-400 just for the rebuild kit I was looking at. I'll certainly do that again when it comes time on the...
I went with blue because we where doing a lot of night driving so the kids would sleep while we drove. The blue is easier on the eyes at night. Haven't had any issue with the white needles at night. With the stock dash or the Escy dash.
Cheapest I could find when I was looking was $200. Most want 250 plus a ridiculous core charge. I really just wanted a cluster with the trans temp gauge. But damn it looks good.
Thought about color matching the vents, but I really wanted them to be subtle and blend in with the windows. So just a sleeker version of the bumpy stockers. I'd color matched them if I'd installed the Escy third brake light too, but it was broken.
Installed Escalade rear vent covers and cluster from a wrecked Cadillac we got in at work! The blue led lights look way better in the escy dash cluster.
I don't see why not. The 4L60e should work from about 96ish to 2005ish. What I would watch though, is the plug for the electronics. That could very well have changed over the years. I'd think it'd be easy to swap from your old transmission though.
