What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I have the gopro all ready for tomorrow morning and will post monday night. Went 202 miles on a quarter tank of fuel. I normally only get 150 at best! Going to grab the old muffler and cut it open, hopefully later this week.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally got my exhaust done. A buddy had a borla race muffler and flow-master 10 series muffler he was getting rid of. So with just a little time, the borla replaced the stock muffler, and the flow-master went behind the axle. Kind of like the resonator on the newer trucks. Sounds great. Only...

Just picked up a 2006 police tahoe. Trans has no 3-4 gear. Thinking of fixing.

I had the 4l60e in my 96 vette rebuilt for $650 + a few extra add ons and fluid. But I dropped off the transmission, not the entire car to them. Just about double it if you don't pull the trans yourself. Good time to replace the rear main seal too. When the trans in the burb goes out, I'll just...

How do I know what tranny my Yukon Denali has?

In your glove box, there is a label with all your RPO codes. You should have one of these two codes: M30 = 4L60E M32 = 4L65E

    suburban mods & MPG

So after owning the truck nearly a year and a half, and breaking 250K miles, I've made a few mods along the way. Long tube headers, high-flow cats, 241 heads, plugs & wires, cold air intake, lots of new gaskets, new radiator, e-fans, computer tune, new water pump, shocks, wheels and tires, SS...

    Has anyone use Mobil 1

I doubt it's going to net any better gas mileage. Personally, i don't think it'd hurt the motor any, but I don't have any real data or experience to back that up. If anything, it'll find any weaknesses in your gaskets and could end up with an oil leak.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Heck yeah. Looks great. Yep, another truck that shows I should have gone with the LED signals too. :Good or Bad:

    LEd reverse lights

I'd look into these from SuperBrightLEDs.com At least a few guys here have added LED fog lights for backup lights. I've been considering that as well with these 6" Oval Work Lights, also from SuperBrightLEDs.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This past weekend my '00 Burban got a quick tune for e-fans, calibrate the MAP and Fuel trims, as well as delete the EGR (kept fighting a vacuum leak at the intake). I then tackled the oil pan gasket, new oil pump seal, and new water pump (pickup up a solid 5psi of oil pressure). All to find out...

    Super Bright LED issue??

Hmm, I don't have any issues with the LEDs in my map lights. I'd email super bright LEDs and see if you got some odd bulbs.

What Exhaust System Are You Running?

Lol, well I do drive the truck like a grandpa...until I need to get up and out of the way. I find it a challenge to eek every extra MPG I can out of this big pig. So maybe I'll give my buddy a call this afternoon.

What Exhaust System Are You Running?

Appreciate the feedback. I leave for a road trip in two weeks, so I'll probably wait until I get back to play with the muffler. Do you think it'd make much difference performance/mileage wise?

What Exhaust System Are You Running?

Wow, from looking at cut out photos of these mufflers, you'd think there would be a lot to gain. My suburban has a 24" body, single in, dual out, but the dual tailpipes just Y into a single tail pipe. Never seen one like that. I was looking at a single in/single out 30" magnaflow muffler, with a...

    Coil Over Conversion Engaged!!

Man, I'm going to have to talk to my boys at Van Steel that did my Vette's coilover setup and see what they'd need to figure out the proper spring rate (they just did a bunch of coilover setups for the Florida DOT's specialized road testing trailers). Think this could be really sweet for my big...

    Improve Gas mileage question....

I'm working on this with my 00 suburban, but going for more of range vs MPG so I'm not worried about cost of mods vs cost of fuel (drive at night as long as possible while the kids sleep for family road trips). It's also an easy motor to work on, so I'm having fun too. Here's what I've done...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just added Camaro e-fans. If nothing else, it was worth it for how quite and smooth the truck is sitting at a light now (which I do a lot here in Florida). Now I just need to find that damn A/C trigger wire.

    Long tubes and factory exhaust

Well, guess I should have tuned in here sooner. I knew I should have milled it. I'll just need to slap on a supercharger. :P

    Checking in from Florida

Yeah, the last two owners really took care of it and I got it dirt cheap...couldn't pass it up. Of course I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty either. Dove into the motor just a year after owning it. First time going this far in for me.

    Long tubes and factory exhaust

Hmm, I'll have to look into it. I know the shop said they had the sodium filled valves, not that I was looking for them. Maybe they were added on with the car's previous build. They are 241's and from all I read didn't need to be milled down, although I should have done it anyway for a slight...

    Checking in from Florida

I've had the '00 suburban a little over a year and a half now. Was playing on the Fullsizechevy.com forum, but it tends to mainly be 4x4 guys these days. Should have grabbed an NBS burban years ago. Always wanted one, and once I had two kids here, it was time to pull the trigger. I sold my 16th...
