    A/c..... grrr

Not true.. The back unit uses an expansion valve. When the system is low on charge slightly the front will suck and the rear will still seem to be good and cold. The front unit has an orifice tube and cant adjust. So in a low charge situation, the rear hogs all the liquid refrigerant ergo...

    Climate control issues

You gotta remember tho...its electronic climate control man.. So if you have it cranked to the warmest setting, got the cabin incredibly warm as hell (way over 80F) and then go to turn it down, then YES the air will become cold. It becomes cold because now you have set it to the mid range or...

    Interior temperature sensor(s) wrong?

Definitely need to check the cabin sensors. Helps to have a tech2 to do this. Basically, turn the car on and let it run for a few mins to stabilize the inside temps. Buy a quality thermometer (like one for measuring temps while cooking foods, etc.) Those stupid fridge thermometers are garbage...

A/C compressor turing on when snowflake not illuminated

Hey chris. A couple years late but better late than never LOL.. Look closely at the climate module. Some early models have the AC on with no snowflake and when u press the AC button the symbol is a snowflake with a Slash through it...indicating AC is requested off. Sometime, they changed it...

AC blowing warm on passenger side. 04 Tahoe

The dual climate systems on 03 and newer are a PAIN to change the passenger side blend door actuator. They're tightly fit and behind the radio. Your hand will barely be able to fit in there. Getting the bolts loose is tough for sure. On my moms 03 Burban, I somehow got one bolt loose and...

    AC Performance

Exactly. Unplug right at the compressor, start car, turn ac on at head unit and check for 12+volts right there at the connector to the compressor. Careful of the fan and drive belt! Also, dont stuff the meter leads into the connector, just touch the terminals. You dont want to spread them...

I'll take a picture of the inside and post when I get a chance. But it is kinda weird. The outside looks like the 01 to 05 models. The inside does as well...except the instrument cluster doesnt look like the 03 and up models and my yukon is a cable driven throttle, not drive by wire Sent from...

A step by step guide to troubleshooting and understanding AC in our SUVs

Ultimate performance test.. Do this test after verifying charge is correct, airflow is correct, Condenser is clean and the fan clutch or fan motors operate at full capacity. It should be a mild to hot day to do this.. Start car. Set all HVAC controls to high speed, coldest temp, recirculation...

A step by step guide to troubleshooting and understanding AC in our SUVs

I'm going to cover troubleshooting the system now that you have verified the proper charge is in the system. Do not go further until you have the proper charge. If getting the proper charge fixed your issue, then you most likely were low and have a leak somewhere and that...could need fixed...

As a professional HVAC and refrigeration tech. I am happy to share how to go about properly troubleshooting the single and DUAL AC systems. :) First off, dealing with the refrigeration system in anyway can be dangerous if you dont know what you're doing. I am not liable for anyone's actions...

    AC Performance

I gotcha man. So, it being new, we still need to confirm that there is 12 volts at the compressor clutch connector. You gotta know this before going further otherwise it's a crapshoot Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    AC Performance

    K. You jumped that plug but the clutch still didnt come on? You need a meter to diagnose properly further. I would unplug the compressor clutch and check to see if 12V are present at the clutch connector. If you have 12V at the clutch connector and the AC light is on, then your clutch is bad...

    AC Performance

Hey guys... new to the forum and I am a refrigeration tech for my work. Thought I'd give some insight/input to anyone having AC trouble. First off, always make sure the blend doors are moving to the full cold position. Next, your front AC will always always not be as cold at first as the rear...
