What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I got a brand new remote from a guy off Portland Craigslist. 35.00 and he programmed it for me in his driveway. Been working perfect for over a year now. Mike

Anyone here do a 5 lug conversion?

I have this slated for my "to do" on the project list. There is a place that sells the front hubs already converted. They will convert your hubs or sell new Timkens already converted. http://www.1320wheels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=99_108&products_id=289 Then it's just a...

I see you're using Tapatalk, that might have something to do with it. I don't use that with my phone or tablet. I like the layout of the desktop versions better. This is the only sight I can't see embedded vids on though. Yeah i'll post up my results from the efan harness debacle.... I hate...

Thanks. I added the link back also because my android devices (Kitkat or Jellybean OS's ) can't view embedded video on this site. I'm assuming others can't either? Mike ---------- Post added at 11:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:00 AM ---------- Thanks man. I've followed your...

Nice. What made you go with these over a factory type fan? Mike

I can tell you right now that if you buy a a fan harness, do not get the one wire setup. Get the two wire setup so both fans are controlled by the pcm. I just got the one wire setup where the high speed is tied into the ac clutch. Such a messed up way to do it. Mike

Very clean design for sure. Interested to see them installed, although 26's are a bit large for my taste. Mike

Putting the Tahoe on a diet

What did it weigh stock before you took out all those items? Mine was 5480 with about 3/4 tank of fuel and nobody inside. I'm in the middle of converting to 2wd on mine, and doing a T56 swap. Hoping to drop around 400lbs with that conversion. The front CV joints alone were about 20lbs each...

Were you running full quarter mile or just 1/8? Curious What yours ran in quarter. Bone stock I got a blistering 16.8@81 haha... Mike

You know I thought the same thing after I saw how small the 8mm all-thread looked. After it started coming together I realized that the center shifter actually became a structural brace. It's quite strong and I will have no problems banging gears all day long. I got a vid of shifting it through...

    Project---------------Tahoe

I made some progress with the custom shifter mechanism this weekend. So, one of the things that really bugged me about doing a T56 swap into a Tahoe/Silverado etc,,, was the fact that most everyone is just using a very long shift lever from the trans all the way up to the center of the...

Putting the Tahoe on a diet

Actually, if you don't mind giving up the lumbar adjustment and heated portion, the factory front buckets are VERY heavy. You could switch to an aftermarket bucket like Corbeau. I bet the stock buckets weigh a good 70-80lbs,,, EACH!! An aftermarket bucket would be in the 20-30lb range. I...

Putting the Tahoe on a diet

Headers are lighter than the cast iron exhaust manifolds. Front coilover conversion will drop 30-40 lbs. If you're really serious you could convert to 2wd and drop 300-400lbs. Fiberglass Hood would drop 20-30lbs. Mike

Update time again. I'm currently waiting on some parts for the T56 swap. After talking with some people, it turns out the factory style master cylinder and clutch pedal has some issues when being used with an aftermarket clutch. The pedal brackets tend to crack/break under severe shifting and...

Fans work just fine. The pcm needs to be programmed to turn fans on at a certain temp. I have efilive tuning software so I just programmed it myself. Mike

    Cold air intake article

Essentially, a CAI is a supporting mod for making more HP with other mods like nitrous, cam, ported heads etc... If you datalog your vehicle and it shows 99+ KPA at WOT throughout your rev range, you're probably not going to see a gain from CAI. You can see a gain from a CAI if that number...

I got the eFans installed this weekend. It was pretty straight forward install and I'm very happy with it so far. No more loud fan clutch when I take off from a stop and I can actually hear my exhaust note now. :) Got these fans locally from a low mileage Tahoe. Nelson Performance...

    Sway bar question

I think the only time you would ever notice a difference between stock and poly sway bar bushings is during quick steering transitions. That first instant when the sway bar starts to flex is when the rubber bushing will squish/compress but a poly bushing won't, at least not nearly as much. My...

Thanks bud. Right now its rolling on 22's, 3/5 drop with DJM front arms and Belltech 5305 rear coils with Billstein shocks all around. After all the drivetrain mods are sorted out I'd love to drop it another 1" to 2". Received the Nelson efan harness this week so I'll be doing the efan swap...

Yeah they're fun cars for sure. I learned a ton about tuning a turbo car even though the options were very limited with the tuner I was using. I bought the car to learn with because it was cheap and already had most of the mods on it. Ended up porting the wastegate myself because it kept getting...
