well the article wasnt really meant to prove anything its more of an explanition of why they dont work
when i was going to school at UTI the instructor i had for hot rod U showed us on several different vehicles we tried them on an escelade an half ton chevy 2008 civic my ford ranger fx4 one of the guys in my class had a brand new mustang we tested one on it and it had 6 hp less then with the factory intake so ive seen the dyno results with my own eyes and that thread on the forum th bb tune dyno test all i see is pictures of cold air intakes and dyno results wich are ******** there so called independant study is biast because if CAI sales were to suddenly drop off that would definatly affect them

This is the second time this has been posted to prove him wrong. I guess he can`t read or comprehend the content of that link.
that thread proves precisely dick the two morons from austrailia also did dyno tests except they did a video and weve done dyno tests at UTI with several vehicles and cold air intakes and they all direclty contradict that post and i dont consider that a proven dyno tests they have no reason to show you real accurate results that would be money out of there pockets
its also kinda fishy that they would post the results like that why not just take a screenshot of the dyno results hmmm
so yeah that so called proven dyno test is about as believable as the easter bunny

how bout this ill go buy one myself and there is a shop near by my house that has a dyno ill record the results with the factory and with the aftermarket
if i get at least 5 hp gain then everyone can say i told yah so if it does nothing then everyone has to set there intakes on fire lol J/K

I think the airaid mit tube compliments the stock box nicely, gets rid of the ugly monstrosity under the hood. It also lets you hear your intake breath at higher rpm's

Agreed, which is exactly why I got mine, so much cleaner under the hood.

Same here. That stock intake tube looks a lot better in the garbage.

Essentially, a CAI is a supporting mod for making more HP with other mods like nitrous, cam, ported heads etc... If you datalog your vehicle and it shows 99+ KPA at WOT throughout your rev range, you're probably not going to see a gain from CAI. You can see a gain from a CAI if that number dropped below 99, which would indicate a restriction in the air path.

One of the things NOT mentioned in that article is the fact that some CAI's can take advantage of bringing in cooler outside air (opposed to hot under hood air). Cooler air is denser air, and that denser air will make more power at any given rpm. This is the reason your car/truck feels peppier on cold days. Also, because dyno rooms are typically hot, this may not even show up as a gain on the dyno. It could, however, be felt on the open road and may even show a gain at a racetrack. It's the same principle as a true cowl induction hood back in the 1960's.

Ibtl!

Couldn't care less about CAI sales....No bias here, we sell all major brand name CAIs. If it were bias, why did the cheapest one come out as the best bang for the buck?

You aren't familiar with the mainline dynos (not many shops are as they are more expensive than a dyno jet, but I digress), nothing was manipulated, dyno sheets were printed and pix taken.
