If you have not yet replaced it yet, or if there is anyone else who is about to, know that it is changeable without taking the whole dash apart like the writeup shows. I changed mine a few months ago by simply removing the glove compartment door, center vent cover and the small storage box...
Here is the proper re-learn procedure for the actuators. I did this when I replaced my passenger side actuator (be glad you don't need to replace that one). This website also has the procedure to replace all of the front actuators...
This past summer I sold my 94' Silverado on Craigslist in 24 hours. If you have good pictures, detailed description and it priced right it will sell and the best part is it's free. If you owned it a while that is good to mention as is any major or expensive repairs you have made.
Of course...
I always thought all GM Z71 trucks and SUV's were 4x4. Just saw a 2wd Z71 Tahoe online, think it was an 05. WTF kind of off road package is that?
Anyone know if that was just certain years they did that? When I was looking for my Z71 all the ones I checked out were 4x4.
That is true. There are 4 actuators in the dash as described above. I just replaced the passenger side actuator on mine which is the worst to get to.
If I am reading your post right it sounds like your drivers side temperature is the problem. That actuator is the one below the dash on the...
Thought I would give an update on my heated seat issue. I replaced the seat bottom element and there was no change. I inspected the seat back element, which turned out not to be to hard to get to, and it also needed to be replaced. Like the seat bottom it had a large burned area. After...
Spent a little while searching ebay and online stores and the best I can find are aftermarket bumpers and grills that come in black primer. For a set like this it's $350.
I did find a grill that came painted black but it was almost $300 alone.
Unless I am just not finding the right deals...
I did not think I would be able to find a bumper and grill already color matched. I will keep and eye out for that. That would certainly be the easiest solution.
Looking to repaint the bumper and grill of my black Z71 to get rid of what many highway miles have done the past 9 years. I was curious to hear from anyone who had experience painting the bumper and/or grill themselves.
The chips in the grill have left enough damage that I figure it would...
Not at all. I do not think they are that old . I bought my Hoe in July and the previous owner put them on. There are in great condition. The only thing I noticed the other day while looking really close was a little dirt had got into the inside of daytime running lamp area. I'm sure it could...
Got mine on ebay and it was for $53.47. Still waiting on it to arrive but it is a long trip from California.

Mine have just come up for sale (see my wanted thread below). They are used but in great shape. There is one other person that already expressed interest and I am waiting to hear from them.
The research I have done suggests that the most common problem is the heating element. When I inspected the one for my seat bottom it had multiple burn spots and obviously needed replacement. I am still waiting on my new one to see if this is the only problem with it.
Those lights do look nice. From what I can see they all look really clear with the exception of the one cloudy part. I agree that it would not be very noticeable once it's installed. Let me chew on it for a day or so and I'll PM you either way.
I am in the process of changing the drivers side bottom heating element. I inspected it the other day and it had multiple scorched areas. Found one ebay for $56. I also think my seat back element may be bad but that one didn't look near as easy to inspect/replace . Has anyone here replaced...
I hate to sound so picky and I really appreciate you responding. I was really looking to get some lights that are in really good shape since my hoe is in good shape but that may not be possible. Let me know what you find when you take another look at your lights. Even if just your headlights...
