About to replace Inner and Outer Tie Rod Ends - Any Suggestions to make it easier?
Good point, as mentioned a lot of labor overlap in that area. I replaced mine at the same time as the tie rod ends and found the pitman and idler arm to both have play in them.- Wake

Battery issue
The battery protection doesn't work for instances like that, it's more for high drain loads like the stereo system, headlights, interior lights, 12v cigarette plugs, etc. In your case the tuner was keeping the PCM awake constantly it sounds like. They are pretty straight forward, more so than a lot of the other vehicles I've owned. Only suggestion is take the old ones off as one piece so you know the length of what the new assembly should be to make it a better drive to the alignment shop.- Wake

It's possible that it was abused before I bought it, but I've found the items I mentioned in several of my vehicles as weak points. I don't think all of them were abused. My 03 Trailblazer also needed to have all the suspension rebuilt before 90K miles as it was pretty sloppy. My Escalade...- Wake

Two years might be ok, I just prefer the better quality stainless, wider band clamps as I plan to keep the vehicles a good long while. You didn't try the cheap eBay bearings did you? I made that mistake on two vehicles and neither vehicle lasted 10,000 miles on those bargain bearings. I figure when a bearing normally cost about $200 each, getting two for $90 is getting what you paid for and getting to do the job twice.- Wake

Best Year to Buy?
Wondering the same thing. When I was shopping I specifically looked for an 05 model year. First year with the electric fans and last year of the strictly Class II data bus (06 was hybrid Class II and CAN). Anything special (stronger) about the 02 and 03 model years?- Wake

I like Moog, Raybestos, and AC Delco. I don't remember about Moog but Raybestos and AC Delco have two grades, regular and professional grade parts. The best prices I've found have been on Amazon.- Wake

Better Brakes
If you upgrade make sure you check the spare. My Escalade came with 17s but the spare is a steel 16" wheel with a slightly bigger tire. Might be worth picking up a bigger spare on eBay if you upgrade the brakes. It wouldn't be fun to find out your spare doesn't fit anymore when you need it.- Wake
