    PCM Swap and Compatability

Before you start buying parts vehicles, or replacing ECM's, pull the fuse block assembly under the hood and look at the bottom side for any signs of corrosion. If fuse holders get overloaded or stressed, heat can cause loose connections. GM believes in providing a convenient hole on the engine...

    01 Yukon Denali Getting Hot

Older vehicles should gradually get certain parts replaced before they fail--one of those parts is the water pump. Even if that doesn't fix the problem, it will often prevent a later break down.

    TAC MODULE?

A couple of thoughts: Would it be worthwhile to check your grounds for corrosion/looseness? Maybe add a couple if you can't find one from engine to cab and cab to frame. How old is your battery? I have fixed unexplained GM problems in Silverado's, equinox and tahoes by replacing supposedly good...

    Engine Noise

50 weight oil seems like a big jump from the factory recommended weight. Maybe the next time you change oil, you could try a 10-40 and see if you still have the quiet running.

    Timing Chains

Instead of doing the chain, why not go to a good local shop and have them troubleshoot the roughness. You could have an intake manifold leak, a coil going out, a valve not sealing properly. Have you replaced the plugs recently? How are the plug wires and distributor cap? Could the fuel injection...

    Plugs & wires

I believe that one advantage to the coil packs is the elimination of cross firing. The wires can still have insulation failure which will cause grounding of the plug wires and conductor failure which can take out the coil packs eventually.

    Rear Hatch won't unlock.

Rico, does your rear door have a strap on the inside? There is a screw concealed behind the strap. I didn't remove mine, but there might be a hidden door release under that strap. Larry

    2005 Tahoe

According to the owner's manual there is a circuit breaker for both right windows under the dash to the left of the steering column. The breaker for the left windows is in the fuse block left side of the instrument cluster, accessible when the door is open. Since your front windows work, the...

2003 Tahoe rear AC no air blowing

If you can figure out how to access the rear unit over the passenger tire by removing the plastic interior covers, see if you can disconnect the duct work and look for crud blocking the coil or the duct. could there have been small critters in the vehicle?

2005 tahoe p0300 HELP! With freeze frame and mf data

The seafoam improvement certainly points toward injector issues. If a second can doesn't clear it up, why not remove the injectors and clean them. There are multiple utube videos on easy methods to use carb cleaner on them.

Yukon 2004 collant leak repair help

You are correct that the a/c can be affected by the hot water flowing through the heater core, but only a very small amount if the system is working properly. There are devices called blend doors that seal off the heater core when in the cooling mode. It is common for these blend doors to start...

    01 Denali Overheat

I second the opinions of many here. Your problem only shows up when the a/c is on. There is a big difference between a troubleshooter and a parts changer. The first will save you money and likes to figure out the solution to the problem before changing parts.

    Keeping cold

GM modules are sensitive to batteries going bad. I have had electrical problems with 3 GM vehicles I have owned that were fixed by replacing the battery. I have known other GM owners with similar problems. Examples of strange symptoms: mirrors, dash, radio, havc controls malfunctions...

    Traction control noise

The ABS motor is on the drivers side under the battery. The traction control when activated can use the ABS to slow one wheel to correct steering when in a low traction situation (I believe). There is a sensor on the steering shaft that compares "desired direction of travel" (for lack of the...

New Guy Needs Help 2005 Z71 will not start

You are probably right about security system or BCM. Have you checked the fuses under the hood. There are 2 fuses for Body Control and I think 2 more for the ignition. Have you had it checked for any codes. Is the lock symbol flashing on the dash? I don't know where the BCM is located, anybody know?

2001 GMC Yukon Xl A/C Condenser

Part of the recharging involves another step -- hook up a vacuum pump to evacuate air and moisture (also lets you know if there is a leak) before recharging. It would also be wise to replace the receiver/dryer.

    Possible fuel pressure issue?

Even using a tuner (which modifies how the ECM reacts to the various inputs from all the sensors) you are probably still running lean when the fuel pressure falls below minimum. A lean engine can end up being a dead engine eventually. The tuner gets it closer to the right fuel/air ratio, but I...

    Coolant change question?

Get it checked for codes, etc. by an independent shop. Have you serviced the fuel filter lately?
