    Coolant Pressure 6.0L Vortec

Personally, I have never had need to try and find a larger radiator. That being said, a very quick search on Rock Auto, found that the same radiator from spektra is used in the '07 Yukon XL 6.2L 1500, 6.0L 2500 and Sierra 6.0L 2500. The 6.6L D-max Sierra 2500 uses a different radiator...

    Coolant Pressure 6.0L Vortec

Depending on the options of his 2500, it already has an "up-graded" transmission cooler from the factory. And if I remember correctly, the base trans cooler is the upgraded one on the 1500's and larger than what was standard for the Denali. On a 95* day, I had about 8K on a trailer behind my 09...

    Coolant Pressure 6.0L Vortec

You've flushed your coolant twice, replaced a few hoses, the reservoir cap and tank. Any chance you didn't get all of the air out of the system? I'm a fan of drilling a 1/16th hole on the top of the Thermostat, if there isn't already one there. If the Dex-Cool was not maintained by the...

my 2013 Yukon, now rough and ready!

On a more serious note, have you looked at the winch mounts for receiver hitches? A front hitch could probably be fabb'd up to put the receiver behind your front license plate and that would allow you to use one winch as a front or rear winch setup...

my 2013 Yukon, now rough and ready!

WOW! I was going to suggest a come-along an old tire, but I think that you are be well beyond that being useful. A bulldozer or several (dozen) yards of sand?

my 2013 Yukon, now rough and ready!

I've seen some lighter duty front brush guards and the push bumpers for our trucks, but nothing that I would consider heavy enough for a winch. That might have to be a custom job. A prefab from a pickup should be able to be made to work. Another idea that might open up options from trucks is a...

    Front diff leaking

Gear oil has a fairly distinct odor. Depending on brand, it could have an amber color. Also, it could look as thin a cooking oil, depending on the weight of the oil. What color is your power steering fluid?

    Front diff leaking

Any chance that is the front seal on your engine leaking and not the diff?

    Steering play?

Sorry. I keep forgetting that the NNBS 1/2 tons got rack and pinion steering. Adjusting that is much more involved, but IIRC isn't needed as often. I would suggest checking the inner and outer tie rods if you feel that you have excessive slack in your steering.

help me decide!! higher milage escalade, or creampuff yukon SLT

You've probably made a decision by now, but I would say to let your wife drive both and decide which she prefers since you said that it is for her.

    Warped rear rotors???

Unless you have drilled and/or slotted rotors, then the stock rotors can usually be turned at least once. Some placed will allow you to just bring in the rotor and they will turn it for you for a fee. Depending on how warped they are, and whether or not they have been turned previously, your...

    Steering play?

In most cases. An easy way to check, is to have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth in the range where you see play while you look at the steering gear output. If it turns with the steering gear, then the play is elsewhere and should be investigated further. If the output does not...

    Steering play?

This 'play' in the steering wheel is usually due to the steering gear needing to be adjusted. it can be done in your drive way with a combination wrench and an allen wrench. there should be several videos on Youtube showing you how to do it. However, the last that I heard labor for the...

Transfer Case Skipping? 09 Tahoe LTZ

Depending on how much use your transfer case has seen, it is possible for the chain to "stretch" some and allow skipping. Changing the fluid wouldn't hurt, and would allow you to see how much, if any, metal is in the fluid. The correct fluid for your transfer case is a dealer only item and is...

Rear wheels/axle move in and out

About an 1/8th of an inch is normal. the rear axles have c-clips and it takes that 1/8th inch of movement to move the axle in and clear the c-clip from the groove in the carrier in the differential. Check your rear pads, there should be some clips to help keep the pads from rattling. That...

Looking for a Tahoe, few questions

I personally think that it is over rated, but the popular opinion on this forum is that the afm on these engines if the devil. I traded my 07 Tahoe LTZ in with 168k averaging about 20k miles/yr. I towed cross country with a trailer near capacity and shorter trips at or slightly above gcvw. I...

Broken Intake Valve from Valve Float 6.2L L92?

I am not aware of this being a common problem with this engine/vehicle combo. Most people would never notice valve float until they are in a situation similar to yours, and on a Denali they tend to just replace the engine and carry on with out much more thought. Also, in '07 the Denali was not...

Possible axle bearing or hub/wheel bearing?

For rear wheels, vet all four tires off the ground. On level ground supported by jackstands. Let the Tahoe idle while in gear with no weight on the wheels, tends to make bad axle bearings easier to hear. I'm not a fan of performing this in a driveway. Another way to try to localize front to...

Broken Intake Valve from Valve Float 6.2L L92?

Sounds like you over revved your engine. Will you be pulling the passenger head for inspection also? I suggest checking all valves for straightness also. If all valves show the same type of damage, I would believe the cause to be a driver that thinks that he/she Dale jr. or Burt Reynolds as...

    First Oil Change

Boyntonx2 is pretty much right. Everybody has an opinion on filters and oil and very few are actually wrong. While I do not doubt that there are folks with 200k on their engines with dino oil, I very much doubt that they use 10k change intervals with that oil and am also willing to bet that...

Going to pick up my yukon need advise

I know plenty of folks who flew out to buy a car and drive it home. Only most end up flying home from the city nearest to where they break down and get a nice fat towing bill. I wish you luck with your purchase, but I wouldn't have made the plans you made until I knew more about the oil...

    Cadillac key fob on Tahoe

Alright. When your vehicle is programmed by a tech at the dealership, they pull your VIN and the programming is matched with the options associated with that VIN. This makes reprogramming the various modules relatively efficient. The remote start retrofit includes a code that is used to...

    Cadillac key fob on Tahoe

the RPO for remote start is AP3 and for remote start prep is AP8. You can look for those codes on the sticker on the inside of your glove box. Or you could get a copy of the build sheet for your Tahoe from a dealership. If you have the AP8 RPo and want remote start enabled, you need to buy...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

From time spent doing make ready for used cars, I know that it never fully comes out. I currently have an odd combo in the Suburban since it was a fleet vehicle. It has the cloth front and vinyl rear seats. Being non heated, I like the cloth. Fortunately it has been below freezing for most...
