I replaced my front, badly warped stock rotors and pads with R1 Concepts rotors and Hawk HPS pads 3 years ago and now I'm feeling the familiar shaking when braking. The steering wheel isn't doing any shaking at all, so I assume it to be the rear rotors that are warped.

I'm thinking about the ACDelco Professional rotors and pads for the rear, but I'm not sure if they're any better than the stock rotors that crapped on me (granted the Tahoe is an '07 with 78k miles). Anyone know or have better suggestions? I'll also take suggestions for the front, see below for reasons (maybe just pads, I think the rotors are probably fine)

For the record: I do NOT like the Hawk pads on the Tahoe. They were great on my Civic Si, great on my old Mazda6, and they're great on my brother's Corvette, but the cold bite is well below stock and they dust like a mofo. I have to stand on the pedal to make the thing stop. Once warmed up, they brake as well as the stock setup, not better.

Thanks!

Rotors are disposable. The pads last longer than the rotors. They don't warp per say. Pad material builds up on them unevenly, and you feel it when braking.

Unless you have drilled and/or slotted rotors, then the stock rotors can usually be turned at least once. Some placed will allow you to just bring in the rotor and they will turn it for you for a fee. Depending on how warped they are, and whether or not they have been turned previously, your rear rotors may still be able to be saved. Add fresh pads and drive on.

As far as excessive brake dust on larger vehicles ive heard hawk pads have that problem. Ebc green stuff pads are supposedly better suited for what your looking for (better all around braking) and have a lower brake dust factor. I think hawk pads does have a different style pad for what your after aswell. For better all around braking and lower brake dust dont get the highest priced pads as they are intended for pure performance not every day driving and keeping pretty rims clean.
