@randeez probably can answer this. I remember he posted weight differences between the iron VS Aluminum arms. He is also running the newer aluminum spindles off the K2XX trucks if I remember correctly.
Thanks for posting that video.
My Candi module isn't being recognized by my Tech 2 any more. What is weird is mine still lights up and I can hear it click but the Tech 2 can't see it for some reason.
I will probably just sell the whole thing. I got irritated and bought a new tablet style...
I installed New Moog CK upper, lower control arms up front on 12/11/20 at 261,241 miles.
The truck still has them on it today with approximately 325K miles. No issues that I am aware of.
When mine started leaking I called them and he had me send pics and they sent me a replacement and I kept the old one. Just FYI.
New design fit much better and I haven't had any further issues, but only time will tell.
Just some more food for thought... Fluid temps that are too cool won't get rid of moisture/water vapor.
Water boils at 212° at sea level.
Discuss.... lol
Yes, they move the lower spring mount closer to the bottom of the strut, thereby lowering the front-end. The Belltechs use spacer rings to achieve differing levels of drop. So no rings equals max drop, all rings equals stock height or whatever, and anything in between.
The downside is negative...
No, drop spindles don't change the front-end geometry, which is the big selling point. No negative camber to worry about because everything else remains in stock location.
This ^^^^^^^. Battery cables can look fine on the outside and be corroded like crazy on the inside. Start by replacing those and see what happens. Pretty common issue on these rigs.
I'm not sure. I bought mine several years ago and haven't had any contact with them recently... you may be correct. If so, it is just Grade 9 hardware. Grade 8 would probably be sufficient but for the added safety factor, why not get the Grade 9.
Struts are a solid option but not the cheapest.
Rough Country sells a 2" drop kit for the front which is a 1/4" spacer and Grade 9 hardware to bolt the struts under the control arm.
I contacted them and bought just the hardware without the spacer for around $20, although that was several years...
Did you install the offset endlinks for the rear sway bar and move the sway bar towards the passenger side?
If not, my guess is the sway bar is making contact with the panhard frame mount.
Rear bumper cover from Esky ESV will definitely fit. I have one on my Burb.
Everything else will also fit with the exception of the airbags being a maybe but my bet would be that they would as well.
You must have me confused with someone else around here...
I believe everyone around here calls you Paw Paw... I don't even have a nickname around here... atleast not any that are ok to repeat in polite company... lol
I have never ran 24s, only 22s.
I was running a 4/6 drop on 285/40/22 tires with zero rubbing. I did do the "Norcal" mod to the front.
After swapping tires out to a 305/40/22 it rubbed horribly so I lifted the truck up 2" all the way around and am now at 2/4 with no rubbing.
I am not certain...
I can't see why having an AFM valley cover would have any effect on how it runs. Once it is turned off in the tune the ECM and engine couldn't care less what type of valley cover it has.
If this were the problem then everyone who turns AFM off in their tune would have to replace the valley...
