I buy UPF gold oil filters and ACD Fuel filters on there....So far they have all been authentic and worked well.
But I bought a refrigerator filter on there that has an imbedded microchip, and the Amazon factory replacement actually did NOT have this internal chip... a knock off... and I...
In the new 21+ vehicles.... has anyone replaced their batteries yet? Mine "Seems" to be cranking slower to the point of making me nervous. When I load test it, it is still in the good range albeit at the very bottom of the good range. About 3.5 years old now....
I change mine about every third oil change.. It's not hard to do but every time I've done it so far, the filter doesn't look dirty that's for sure.. Probably could go much longer.
It doesn't matter how many miles are on your tires, you have crappy stock tires. Change them to a much more preferable tire like Michelin or Pirelli's, and you will find this will solve 80% of your problem.
Heck, there are numb nuts in our areas that drive around with full light bars on, sometimes during the day! I really don't get the point with fog lights.. Turn them on when you need them. Otherwise Leave them off.
I'm kind of in the same boat. I've seen the red light flash many times, but I've never seen it even tap the brakes. Other Vehicles I owned it would jab those brakes pretty quickly if it thought you weren't going to do something....
That's funny, there's one straight above the door interior on mine. Not on the a pillar, but there's a grab handle there. I personally think they should be on the a pillar also, but I think for looks that would look too truck like for the Denali...
Even though my dealer is busy, they will usually diagnose the situation fairly quickly, and let you continue to drive the vehicle until the suitable parts and a time slot opens up to fix it. Diagnosis usually only takes a few hours, could wait on it.... Then the actual fix could take a day at...
I'd probably just plan on refueling at truck stops where you can get diesel and DEF at the same dispenser. With a heavier tow I would probably fill both of them up at every stop. It's pretty simple and eliminates the possibility of running out of each. Keeping a 2.5 in the back never hurts, but...
I have the same type of rattle that is more evident when it is at idle.....it sounds like it is coming from the passenger left knee footwell. Soon as I touch the throttle it stops. I've had it for the last couple of years and just lived with it, I often thought it was possibly the DEF injector...
This is usually the issue, the gage is inaccurate at best, and you may be lower than you think on DEF. I usually don't like filling mine clear to the brim, as if you keep it around a half when it gets low you are putting in a 100% fresh DEF and not being diluted by the remaining half a tank that...
While anything is possible, I have a seasonal vehicle that has had the same DEF in it for two years. No DEF related issues. It's highly unlikely that it crystallized in anything less than a year's time. It could have been getting low and maybe left the sensor exposed or something like that...
Even if he used a 2.5-gallon container every thousand miles which I don't believe is realistic, the increase in mileage of the Duramax (+30% min..) combined with the fact that he's probably feeding a 6.2 with premium still makes the Duramax a far and away winner. I haven't put 60.00 of DEF in...
Also $749 is a ridiculous dealer fee. In our area of the Midwest that is usually a 150 to 200 dollars. Another money grab by the dealer.
In Florida it is sometimes a thousand to 1500 dollars. Absolute insanity. I would travel out of state to find a vehicle before I would pay any of these fees...
Because when you're smashed up against the steering wheel and your phone is in the back of the vehicle due to impact it can tell the authorities where you are. Doesn't that seem important?
IF DEF was the issue, there would have been warnings on the DIC that fluid level was getting low, etcetera.
My guess is an electrical issue, these things just don't go "bam" and shut down unless something isn't communicating/connecting.
You really don't know what it's doing for you. It could help you multiple times in a slippery stretch and you don't even know it. If you ever drove on the stock tires in a rainstorm and you felt it slip or hydroplane, you'd understand why auto makes sense. We have.....
If you ever pulled the stick and don't see anything on it...... it's pretty likely..... you got problems.....
I don't pay attention to anything except dipstick time and miles. I don't need a digital interface to tell me what to do.
Mine is in the sun 90% of the time. Been in 2Hi for 3 years. I flip it in auto when we are in blinding rainstorms on interstates and when I pull my boat out of slippery ramps.
No ill effects or wear. Unless you need it... leave it in 2Hi.
You'll get tons of opinions about leaving it in Auto...
Absolutely, the positives far outweigh the few negatives. I'm old and I don't need to be passing people 4 at a time.:burnout: The Duramax is plenty fast enough for me and will go 80 and 85 all day long with the best of them. No better road vehicle out there for taking long trips with lots of...
