2016 Tahoe - retractable running board vs stationary

Escalades are unique with switch placements and the CUE system. It does more than the Tahoe Yukon platform. However, a majority of the circuits are the same.

2016 Tahoe - retractable running board vs stationary

You actually can control them with this switch (bottom left just above the adjustable pedal button). I believe it can be done. I’ve complete all the wiring. I’m looking for a good set of power assist steps now. There’s 3 circuits that come from the x185 body to chassis harness connector...

    Roof Rack Swap

I’ve been looking for a set to put on my 2015 Yukon. Please post pics when done. Is the place you got them from local to you? I haven’t had much luck looking online. Actually would you also post pics of them before they are installed? I’m curious about the underside surface. Sent from my...

    Auto dimming rear view mirror

Here’s the link to pgamboa’s post. Granted it’s on a truck, but I’ve checked the circuits and their positions on the connectors and they are the same for the suvs. How-To: A10 Inside RearView Auto Dimming Mirror Conversion (DD8)...

    Auto dimming rear view mirror

Yes, it is possible. Unfortunately, the dealer will most likely advise that it’s not possible. You’ll need to add four wires to the mirror connector and land them in the X61A junction block (3 wires) and X51L fuse block (1 wire). Both are located on the driver’s side dash area. @pgamboa on...

Upgrade '16 Denali to HDMI input from '17 models?

Some additional thoughts I had on the matter: I’m thinking the circuit board in the A/V adapter at the back of the console is processing the HDMI signal and sending it down the blue LVDS usb cable that was added. From that direction, it enters the dvd first, then on to the front screen and HMI...

Upgrade '16 Denali to HDMI input from '17 models?

You mean this? On the 2015-2016, the usb at the module and in the console compartment come together in this double usb plug at the front of the center console and connect with the black usb cables in the dash harness. It connects to the black plugs on the dvd and HMI. Sent from my iPad...

Upgrade '16 Denali to HDMI input from '17 models?

So I wanted to document my progress so far with this. It can be done physically. As of the writing of this post, I am still working on the HDMI functionality. My vehicle is a 2015 Yukon SLT with RPO U42 which is the rear entertainment system with RCA A/V inputs. To swap in the X82...

Upgrade '16 Denali to HDMI input from '17 models?

Yes, the dvds have the same ports. The blue LVDS usb cable is the key. It connects the AV unit, dvd, front screen and HMI together. Unfortunately, the schematics aren’t comprehensive in what they show. That additional usb plug is fed by the blue LVDS usb cable that splits off the dvd plug. I...

Upgrade '16 Denali to HDMI input from '17 models?

I’ve got the 2017+ X82 audio/video adapter installed and working with the exception of the HDMI port in my 2015 Yukon. I’m still testing to see if I can get it to work. Both USB ports work/charge. I’ll expand on things shortly. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Upgrade '16 Denali to HDMI input from '17 models?

For those of you asking about the pin out of the 12 pin X82 connector on the 2015-2016 suvs, here it is. Here’s the 2017+ X82 connector. The 2017 uses pins 1, 3, 7, 9 & 10 from the 2015-2016 connector. Those circuits are the power, ground and headphone signals. Sent from my iPad using...

2017 Denali XL extendable towing mirrors similar to 2500/3500 HD option

One option would be swapping in Escalade mirrors. They are plug and play. Although they don’t extend, they are much better than the OE mirrors. Original mirror Escalade mirror Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ex Canadian 2017 GMC Yukon Denali

Congrats on the Yukon. Regarding the backlight color, it changed to the blue/green in 2017. Based on my understanding, you can swap some of the switches with a previous year model to gain the red backlighting. However, the radio screen and gauge cluster would either have to be reprogrammed or...

Cadillac LED Handles on 2015 Yukon?

So the supplies came in to build the pigtails that address the different X705 & X805 connector on the left & right Escalade door harness and they work great. There were two main issues to solve. First, the Escalade rear door harnesses both include a gray 6 pin connector that has four wires...

I wanted to update you guys. My windshield got a rock chip that ran across it. I was able to get the glass shop to order an HUD spec windshield for replacement. The ghosting is gone. The display is much clearer now. Pics don’t do it justice. Here was a before shot Sent from my iPad...

Thanks for checking. Let me know if it works when you test it. That part number should be for a wire with the terminal crimped on it. Here’s a link to just the terminal. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/JST-Automotive/SNAC-A061T-M28?qs=XoGB3caz5%2Fa9gYXg6S7pvQ%3D%3D Sent from my iPad...

Missing puddle light circuit 2016 suburban lt

You are correct. If the puddle lamp circuit isn’t coming out of the BCM connector, I doubt that wire will be in the door sill wire run. I would do as you suggested and test to see if the pin is present on the BCM side and if it works. Please let me know. I’m working on adding those circuits...
