Yes, that will cause crazy issues. The computer can open the injectors longer to compensate for less fuel pressure (+trim) but there is only so much it will overcome.
Swap it, add two ounces of PAG oil either through a can or manually pouring it in, install new o rings on the lines going to it, recharge the system. Simple as pie.
Bilstein and airlift bags if you have any issues with your rear leveling. See here.

Heck no I wouldnt waste my money on that. Buy some Bilstein 4600s ($150), and manual lift AirLift bags ($100). See here:

Thats a vibration dampner I believe. I just did this for a guy in the fbody world and we swapped a 4l80e yoke out of a van onto his DS with no issues. It did not have the ring on it either. He said it was fine driving it.
Yep, keep it simple. A properly built 60 will give you years of trouble free service. Add in a nice Circle D converter and it will feel like a whole new truck.
An alternative is, something quiet at cruise and idle and only really hear under acceleration. The Hooker aerochamber is sorta like that. It has a non-aggressive deep mellow idle, decent part throttle, pretty loud WOT, and really mellow cruise on the highway and no drone. If you have manifolds...
I found a great local shop (100 miles away) that was recommended by racers. Had him build both my 60Es and have had great luck. COst was $1050 across the bench, meaning I remove and replace.
Stock. Any exhaust you can hear will be louder under acceleration, and noticeable inside the cab. If you dont like it go back to a quiet muffler. Here's a tip: They dont make a muffler you can hear when you want and not when you don't. Physics dont work that way!
I used to use it as a daily, but not anymore. I use it to pleasure drive on my days off or pull my atvs or Camaro or haul the family when needed. No clue what mpg was before, dont know what it is now. According to the computer it was 13ish. Cruising this morning it was 2500 @ 80mph and 3k @ 90mph.

So I decided I wanted a little more performance, and towing prowess. I ordered some blue box Motive 4.30 gears, part number GM10-430 and a Ratech rebuild kit. I also ordered a Ratech solid pinion spacer. I decided a new cover would be nice also.
Motive gears and cover.
Opened it up...
Shitcan the stock stuff and install regular shocks with air lift bags.

Thats was not my experience. Air ride was busted on mine when I bought it and towed a ton of times including my car hauler with zero issues. I would not replace springs until I tried the stockers first. It did not sag at all in the back, I felt the stock springs were fairly firm.
Just waiting to get some miles on these gears. I generally dont drive this truck for daily driver duties but im going to for a while to accumulate some miles.
