    2” RC Leveling Kit Question

I see this fairly often, but it simply is not the case. Trucks with leveling kits can be aligned for proper tire wear - I've owned plenty this has been the case for. Currently have three in my fleet with leveling kits and proper tire wear. Two NBS and one NNBS. The biggest thing is finding an...

    Valley Pan Torque...Help!

Cross pattern doesn't hurt, but the valley pan isn't super critical to get perfect. Good clamping force even at low torque with all those fasteners, and a nice soft thick gasket to make a good seal. I don't even use a torque wrench on them. Just run em down "about right". Never had one leak.

What's the SHORTEST tire GM fitted to 4-door Grand Blazers / Tahoes between '91 & '07?

Sure, size has little effect on safety as long as you are keeping within safe load/speed ranges. It's just a bit unconventional to look at smaller tires when also trying to increase ride quality on rougher terrain. Only attempting to understand your desire so I can offer a better recommendation...

    Bearing clearance.

If the stock bearings looked great, I'd seriously consider reusing them (assuming you kept them in order). Otherwise, you've already gotten good advice, except that I disagree about having to have your crank polished. If the bearing surfaces are all in good shape then there is no need...

    New Tire Suggestion

I've had multiple sets of Falken AT3Ws. Was an early adopter when they came onto market when they were cheaper. "Only" got 55k out of the first set due to a very bad alignment around 50k (Pioneer Chevy, Abingdon VA... steer clear). Haven't worn another set out. Sold one set that had a lot of...

What's the SHORTEST tire GM fitted to 4-door Grand Blazers / Tahoes between '91 & '07?

Probably sucks from back in the cage, too :rotflmao: OP, is it looks that is leading you to wanting smaller tires? Generally larger tires are more appropriate for more rugged terrain. To answer your question, shorter sidewall and smaller tire will always lead to a harsher ride. Some tires and...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Feel free to DM me if you're interested in it. That's the best picture I've got at the moment, but it's in pretty good shape.

    knock sensor selection

How many miles? Lots of high mileage rigs injectors start to clog up.or get sticky. I've had to replace injectors on 2 out of the 3 I currently own. You can check for vacuum leaks with a little starting fluid. Spray it around fittings and joints that could be leaking. If idle changes when you...

    4l60e rebuild kit...so many options

I like the RayBestos clutch kits, and a RayBestos ZPak for the 3-4 clutch pack. Also I like a wide Alto band. All of mine get an HD Valve Body Separator Plate and Torlon check balls which won't best the plate up. I order aluminum accumulator Pistons. I stack two in the accumulator in the case...

Front end refresh - am I missing anything?

Get this style ball joint tool (pictured at the bottom). $15-20 at harbor freight, way better than a pickle fork in most situations. Also handy because it doesn't destroy ball joint boots if you need to separate a joint that you don't want to replace. New alignment plate bolts has been...

Write up interest? Budget E-Fan swap, Measuring Tire Clearance, Brake Caliper Rebuilding, Cam Swap, Etc?

There was a time I did a *lot* of write ups on LandRoverForums. Some extremely in depth, some not as much. It takes a lot of time, and makes the job at hand take quite a bit longer, but if there is much interest then I would be interested to some of them here on the TahoeYukonForum. Feel free...

    Cats going bad?

Yep for Cali and... New York? Cali and one other state you've gotta have "50 state legal" converters. Course, that might be expanding. Seems like I heard Maryland or somewhere is starting to do the same. Truthfully I don't really keep up. Doesn't effect me in NE Tenn/SW Virginia yet thankfully.

    Cats going bad?

I've used a lot of aftermarket converters, including half a dozen Magnaflow's. I've had both burn out, I've had both last. Roughly the same failure rate between them. If you want to put in an aftermarket converter, I'd recommend just ordering some of these (link) and take them to a local...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Wish you weren't on the other side of the country. I've got an HD hood I took off my 2500 cause I actually prefer the half ton stuff.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Big maintenance day today. Rear brake pads (a little overdue...), driver front hub assembly, and power steering pump replacement. Couple nights ago in some snow on my folks property, slid into some electric fence (it was off). Wrapped around the front suspension, so I had the wife cut the wheel...

    2002 Wheel size

Probably a tread wear difference if one set was new, but also some manufacturing difference as you mentioned.

    2002 Wheel size

A 65 aspect ratio with the same width (255/65r18) would be nearly identical in size difference. Half inch smaller instead of larger. A 265/65r18 would be exactly identical to stock 265/75r16s in both height and width.

    Recommendations for Wheel Spacers?

BORA. Made in the US. A little pricy, but I feel safe with them having my kid in the car since you sometimes see the Chinese spacers Crack and break apart. I'll use cheap (hub centric!) spacers on the rear sometimes, but BORA on the front. Always.

Possible to replace wheel studs without taking off calipers?

Only way I'd do em is to pull the hubs/rear axles. I will replace one on the truck if I have a single broken Lug, but more than that and they're coming off and being pressed in/out. If you're doing them at home pulling them in by the Lug nuts, then you're going to do more harm than good. I've...

    I just Bought a 2000 Yukon XL 4x4

I think you'll find the Chev easier to work on and simpler to match parts up.... Only reason I prefer a Chev over Ford, really. That and my momma raised me right. Kidding, kidding. Welcome to the forum!

    2002 Wheel size

Yes. They are just barely narrower and taller. 1/2" taller meaning 1/4" greater radius, all other things equal. As long as they are not super wide offset then you will have no issues whatsoever.

    Totaled

Man! Dropping like flies. I hope your daughter is ok. Definitely looks repairable, at least to drivable condition. My profile pic, the truck my wife is daily driving right now, I got as a rollover. Just flopped on the drivers side. Replaced a couple panels, didnt replace a couple panels... body...
