I finally got around to removing the broken sway bar bracket bolts thanks to some broken bolt extractors from Amazon.
Finally have the sway bar on after having it off for 2 years.
I am really impressed with these Sway bar end links from Ac Delco, the entire set of hardware is like grade 8...
Ended up warrantying the upper control arm through Rock Auto. I had to buy a new control arm and ship the bad one back in the same box and they will supposedly give me a refund here in a couple day.
Just checked the ball joints and everything looks good still had to take the original mevotech...
@glosol If you are running non-AFM hardware you need to tune the AFM feature out of your computer. You can temporarily plug the old valley cover electrical connector back in and lay the old valley cover in the engine bay somewhere and that should make it run correctly. Get the AFM tuned out asap.
@mikez71 The metal ones from ebay look nice. I think once you get them in you'll be happy with it. I was going to recommend the Moog 81069 rear springs but supposedly the Z71 rear springs are the same.
I really dig those wheels by the way
Go with MZS they have aluminum spacers. Here is an example of how mine were installed. Once they are in there you shouldn’t have any movement as long as you aren’t stacking lift spacers on the same side.
@mikez71 Can you post a link to the spacers?
The spacers I used in the past were 2.5 inches thick solid aluminum and they fit pretty snug. You want to put them directly on the spring perch and then put the rubber isolator between the spacer and the spring.
Have you had the battery tested?
Here’s the cable at orileys:

When I deleted the AFM I used a new AC Delco Oil pressure sensor as preventative maintenance and the new sensor seems to be less responsive than the old one. So now I just wait for things to break
Another development is I've been chasing down bad shaking on the freeway above 70mph. I jacked up the tahoe and when I spin the wheels they end up contacting the ground so it seems the tires are out of round. I made an appointment with the tire shop I bought them at and will update on the result...
At about 200,080 miles I replaced the lower control arms after I found one of my Moog balljoint was loose. I went with Mevotech TTX for the lower control arms.
Leading up to this the ride on the Tahoe was pretty hard and loose feeling, going over old pavement roads was kind of scary because of...
@Joseph Garcia The local shop I bought them at might not have a road force balancer and I might need to go back to the shop I bought them at to pursue a warranty claim. But they have been good to me so I will start there.
Worse case scenario I throw these wheels and tires on my 94 k1500 and I...
Yesterday I put the front of the Tahoe on jack stands and I spun one of the wheels freely and then it contacted the ground and I couldn’t turn it anymore. I turned it back the other way and spun freely, I tried the same in the other side and the same thing happened.
Like the wheels aren’t...
@Doubeleive The clunk seems to be related to body roll but there is no sway bar attached, the upper and lower control arms have been replaced, and the steering rack is bolted down tight.
I suspect the problem is the shaft within the rack is becoming loose and knocking around or body mount? I...
@Doubeleive It's leaking a little bit but the movement in the steering just ain't what it used to be and I'm getting a lot of clunking so I figured it's time to do the rack and that coupling joint that connects the steering shaft to the rack
I hear you guys. I’ve read conflicting info so I’m just figuring it out myself and updating you on the journey.
Next up is the steering rack and tie rods, any recommendations?
Notes on the lower control arms. The zeros are facing forward without the ability to adjust that without repressing the ball joint but they do include zerk covers.
The lower ball joint boot seems to be turning with the knuckle in the picture you can see the boot it kind of twisted.
