That's the one thread I've been able to find anywhere about doing the swap. The guy was only on the forum for one day to post it which seems weird. I've seen the exact post by someone with the same name in two other places too.
From what I've been able to find the programming is the same for the 4wd and awd. GM does it to save money. I will need to pull the tccm, switches and all the wiring that goes to the front axle and transfer case. I just realized I can check all data and see where else the wires go from there...
I've got a few questions about swapping the AWD transfer case in my 04 Yukon Denali to a push button 4wd setup and wanted to know if anyone's done it. I talked to transfer case express and they said to use a 263 case as it is dimensionally the same so I won't have to change drive shafts. I will...
I have an 04 Yukon Denali and will be attempting to swap a push button 4wd transfer case in place of my AWD system. I'm also getting a good deal on the G80 rear axle from the same truck and want to swap it for the LSD. My axle and the one I'm getting are both 3.73. The rear ABS setup on my axle...
Check out Audioworks in Milford, CT. I actually used to work there and am still friends with their installer. If you're closer to Norwalk, CT I can do most stereo installs and custom work myself. If it's remote start I'd still send you to Audioworks though. I even send my cars to him. PM me if...
I just lowered my 04 Yukon Denali about 4" using a maxtrac kit. Front spindles and keys and rear springs. Along with the new shocks the truck feels amazing. Very little body roll and not too harsh over bumps. My only issue with the kit is the rear springs didn't get me enough of a drop. I've...
My new roll pan came in yesterday so I got to fitting it up first thing this morning. It looks great and aside from being a little tight on the sides it fits pretty good. It matches the body lines very well too. The only permanent mod I needed to do was trim about 2" off the end of the flame...
I'm pretty happy with it. It's loud but even turned up you can still have a conversation in the front without yelling (too loudly anyway). You can feel it as much as you can hear it.
Finally got the box sanded down (mostly) and test fit it. Holy crap it's loud even with a crappy amp. best of all no rattling inside or out of the truck. I've still got more sanding to do and need to figure out how to get the stock looking texture into the paint. Anyone have any ideas?
Those look pretty good. I'm trying to keep the rear box as stock as possible which is why I'm using the stock panel for the face. At some point I'm going to redo the sub in the console too. The rest of my speakers are starting to go so if I have to swap them out I might as well do everything...
Got the parts test fit yesterday. They still need to be painted properly but I love the look. I did the escalade caps a few weeks ago. My new roll pan should be in next week.
I've done a fair amount of plasti dip stuff. My last BMW was completely dipped and it is good stuff. It's cheaper and easier to just shoot it with spray paint though. I got the chrome off (that SUUUUUUCKED) and it still needs to be sanded anyway. I sprayed the surround satin black and will be...
Personally I can't stand chrome. I'm trying to get rid of all of it I can. Eventually the lights will go. The reason I'm doing a burnt copper outline on the GMC is because there's a fair amount if it throughout the truck and I'll be adding more. I shot the grille surround satin black with spray...
The rendering of the whole grille painted white looks like crap. It's too much white even for me and most of my cars have been white. I may just paint everything with cheap spray paint just to see for sure how it looks.
It won't be completely backed out. The GMC logo will be very visible in the middle of it. Or it will just look like the GMC is floating. I may also do some back lighting of either the whole grill or just the GMC
Got a bunch of work done on the speaker box and grille for my 04 Denali today. Yesterday I changed the serpentine and a/c belts tensioner and idler as well as changed out the two bad vent control actuators. I now have working heat and a/c blowing where I tell it to. Here's the grille and box so...
I started working on the new grille for my 04 Denali today. The grille insert is gloss black stainless mesh. I'm also going to be removing the tow hooks and lower grille and changing that one out too. It's just a mockup now but the ring around the grille will also be black and the wings around...
I started working out my ideas for the speaker box I'm building for my 04 Denali. Nothing crazy just a single 12". The box itself fits behind the driver side rear panel kind of like the 02-03 trucks. My box takes up most of the room in the cavity though and the face of the speaker box is...
