I'm about to pull the trigger on all my parts right now on amazon, but first, I just wanted to make sure I'm getting the right shocks. I'm getting the
Bilstein (24-186643) 5100 Series Shock Absorber (for fronts)
&
Bilstein 24-187237 Rear Shock for GM Tahoe/Avalanche (rears, duh)...
That will look awesome. Love the grill. You might consider getting a double row 30" bar. If you want, (I've seen it on a few radical prerunners in SoCal) you can buy amber covers that clip on to the bar. You don't have to pay extra for amber LEDs, you can pattern the white/amber however you like...
I'm planning on doing 1-3" keys cranked to 2". and 2" rear spacers and then taking out the autorides (dead anyway) and putting bilstein 5100's all the way around? is this a good way to get clearance for some 33s while keeping a nice ride?
I can get all the bilsteins for ~$300 and the keys and...
If I bought 3" keys (or just cranked the factory keys) and got spacers for the rear and then replaced the front shocks with bilsteins, and then got an alignment, what would be the downsides to this? would my wheel bearings still wear out? would my ride suck? anyone done this to their ride?
Mounting options might get a little tricky. The bar behind my grill has the sliding adjustable mounts on the bottom which made it very easy to mount. The traditional side mounts might be a little trickier but I'm sure it still would be relatively simple.
Go for behind the grill. Its perfect for flashing those special assholes on the road that cut you off. If you mount it on the upper part of the radiator mount, it shines right through peoples rear windshields on most sedans.
Has anyone done any trimming in the front wheel wells to fit bigger tires and eliminate rubbing? I might need to do this and I'm not sure what to remove? Is it just the black plastic inside the well?
Thanks
Thanks. Thats what I was thinking. I'd like to not have to crank the keys a lot if I can so I can preserve my ride and front suspension travel. Trimming would be a good option, except I'm not sure what I would be trimming and how much of it I'd need to do
I'm pretty new to the forums, but I've been wasting time on Reddit for a couple years now. I finally made a subreddit dedicated to Tahoes/Yukons (GM SUV's). If you are on Reddit, drop by and subscribe and contribute!

I believe the ones I was looking at were classified as Medium offset. I looked on the manufactures webpage and they offer 3 options of that wheel with my bolt pattern. +0, +18, +30, so I'm guessing medium means +18 in offset.
Im getting a set of 17x9 wheels and some toyo MT's to wrap them in. The guy at the tire store said on the phone that 265/70/r17 would fit safer with no rubbing. The issue is I don't want to put skinnier tires on wider wheels. (275/70/r20) especially since my current AT's are wider. I really...
There are some metal flanges attached to the radiator mounts at approximately the position of the light bar. The mounts on the light bar are adjustable laterally and can swivel 180° to adjust the angle. I just slid the mounts to match the width of the radiator mounts and angled them pointing...
So after scanning a few threads and the rest of the internet, I figured out how to safely and easily and quickly get your DRL's to stay on full time. I'll include some photos to help clarify what Im talking about. Here we go...
So first, head to your local electronics shop and grap a 200 volt...
I may end up trying to make some of my own at some point depending on how my rack comes out. If I don't like the look or fitment I might see if I can find a way to make some custom brackets. If that is the case I can dig up this thread and PM you. Keep in mind I have an 01 tahoe and my existing...
