So to those of you that say we should get a transmission built for towing, I would assume that applies to the boosted crew and anyone else that likes to drive hard. If our trans goes bad, would it be better to rebuild or is there a version we can add to the NNBS that is better built for towing...
This is exactly how mine is setup.
This unit looks sick! It would be great to have a unit that can run 2 sources at once like Navigation on top part where truck shows and a video feed of some sort at bottom. Wish I had the customizable knowledge to do this.
I had one old one that would not always connect to torque but left it in a car that was sold. I will look into the one above that turns off, sounds very promising.
That is the subwoofer. The box is plastic and has 3 bolts holding it down. 2 are up front under the radio and you can see the 3rd in your pic. The sub is a 6.5" speaker. You could try updating the speaker to see if that helps with power as a simpler/easier route. There is a harness that...
Used AC Delco all my life with this tahoe. I used a Mobil 1 High Performance / High Mileage filter that costs way more than the AC Delco and coincidentally, my oil sending unit went bad afterwards causing my gauge to not function. I find it hard to believe that that alone caused my issue but...
I just dont understand the importance of keeping a stock HU. Are all the aftermarket ones that ugly even with the dash kits? The resale value of the car doesnt go up because you kept a stock HU. This isn't a vintage car. Why put all that money and time into such a high end system upgrading...
This is awesome. I definitely learned a lot. Appreciate you posting this stuff! Just to confirm, the power inverter is for something else or do you need it just to power the cameras?
So my license plate lights went out and I like to wait for these times to do upgrades, when things go bad. In the process, I realized there hasnt been much discussion of other bulbs besides headlights. Can anyone share their feedback on bulbs they used successfully and possibly images. This...
This is crazy. Sorry you dealing with so much. I have a 4200 nex and have driven many nights playing for hours (4-6) with constant blasting. Sounds like you not hitting a bump or anything that would make us worry about something loose. My PAC gave an issue when I first installed due to loose...
I bought an 11 Tahoe with 121k miles. Had no proof transmission fluid was ever changed but seen signs that other maintenance was done regularly. I did the AFM delete shortly after purchase. Have had no engine issues so far. In fact, I never even changed my belts and dont see cracks or...
jeez. I'm not looking forward to the day but trying to prepare for it. I was hearing the next gen tranny is even better but not sure what is involved to get it installed. I imagine a used one from junkyard would be cheaper. Still investigating the process.
Your transmission failures are most likely related to not changing fluids. I'm sure you werent doing anything crazy when "the part breaks inside". The transmission just gave up after all the abuse. I find it hard to believe you can survive 200k miles without changing plugs or tranny fluid but...
Wow thanks for taking the time and $ to do this. 13k miles ehh? Definitely interested to know how it turns out. I always go with the Mobil 1 with the blue sticker (High mileage) but will gladly change if this comes back positive :).
Just curious what would be needed to add the beefier 6L90 to the NNBS. Seems like a better replacement than the 6L80. I think it would be good to start with 6l80 first. The 6l40 might be a different animal to swap but hopefully its not that different.
so for the average person not planning to go big performance but just wants something better than stock, what would be the better way to go (more affordable)? Rebuilt tranny or 6L90? I'm heading over there to discuss options for adding 6l90
This is great to know. How much are we talking for a rebuilt transmission? This sounds like a much better option than buying a new or used transmission to replace a bad one...unless the price is a big factor?
The 6L90 I assume is in the next generation transmission and the fact that you...
GUys, you got me excited but I have no idea what you are talking about. First off, where did 65/70 come from and is there a more robust version of the 6 speed version that will fit on trucks using the L80? When my trans finally goes, would love to know best option to add. Having something...
If you are using stock amp, the d-pillar speakers will take power away from the door speakers. They share same wiring so it will hurt the other speakers. More speakers are better but the stock setup already bad at powering aftermarket speakers, I wouldnt add. In my case, not only was I using...
Speaking from my own experience, I had alternator whine and all. Found it to be related to gains on my PPI 900.4. They were set to the middle. I brought them down a little, around or slightly above 1/4 and the hiss went away. I knew from previous videos what was the ideal max volume to have...
