Electrical quirks?
The remote that you have for the truck may be the "Second Remote". When the vehicles were sold new, they came with two fobs, One and Two. Both were separate and had a chip in them that would tell the truck which driver was entering, hence telling the seat and mirrors and such what preset to go...- Moose912

What do I NEED to know before I change out my factory radio??
Something else you may want to know, a lot of times the chime system and factory theft system are run thru the radio. The "Chime" usually automatically defaults to loud when you change out a headunit for a non factory one. Its REALLY loud when it does too.- Moose912

mileage/fuel econ/range monitor?
2003-2006 should come with them almost every time. 2001 was not optional. Im not sure even swapping out a cluster and having it programmed with a newer model will work on a 2001. I believe the PCM/BCM (one of the two) is set up differently. Im not POSITIVE on that tho.- Moose912

24s or Mudd tires
i like the idea of 18 or 20 with some meaty tires. Nitto Trail Grapplers are pretty awesome. Have a 50k warranty but still look pretty aggressive. They play well too! Also ProComp X-treme M/T. Used to sell a ton of both of them. Somehow my buddy managed to run 55k on the procomps... just my... -

have you looked underneath on the other side of the rear to see if it can be mounted there? I havent been under mine lately, but if I remember correctly the other side of the truck has enough room to be able to mount one, just have to make some brackets. otherwise, maybe along the frame under...- Moose912

How inaccurate is the MPG on the cluster?
I have never checked the DIC to see what it shows... I usually reset my trip every tank and do the math (total miles divided by gallons pumped.) My 05 Denali XL is getting around 15, on a damn good week. Is your truck a 5.3 or a 6.0? My 04 Z71 hoe got those kinds of numbers, sure do miss them...- Moose912

ok, so IF I need to replace a front impact sensor, are there any posts about how to do it already? I'm still new, but have browsed and can not find any.
