03 Yukon rear differential temoerature ranges?

I'm not sure how accurate 25 degrees is. I'm considering it more as a safety margin than a hard and fast rule

    Brake pads

I have the OEM ac delco ceramic pads on mine. Original set was still good at ~115k when I replaced them. I just did it cause they were old. New set is still just dandy and I'm sitting at almost 170k. Never had a complaint when towing 7k across the cascades. Or when I was stress testing and...

Should water pump be replaced if gasket is leaking?

nawwwww man why put schmoo in your system? The pump-to-block gaskets are 9 bucks on amazon, a gallon of premix coolant runs $15 (or concentrate plus 99 cents of distilled water and you have 2 gallons for the same price) and it's a 15 minute job. The risk/reward here for dumping a clogging agent...

Should water pump be replaced if gasket is leaking?

automotive gaskets are typically made from nitrile, fwiw. Not trying to be pedantic when I say that. You can find the odd silicone based gasket if you look hard, or silicone radiator hose kits. The significance being: you wouldn't want to use a silicone grease on a silicone item. Remember...

    Can't get fan clutch loose

Shoot if you have an air hammer, they make a wrench tool that installs into one. Takes any of 'em off

Should water pump be replaced if gasket is leaking?

I mean, ideally yes. But these things are so damn easy to do... You could honestly get away with just a gasket swap. Takes longer waiting for the thing to warm up to check the t-stat than it does to actually do the job. Get the good rubber-impregnated-metal ones from fel-pro. Prep the surfaces...

    Funky Transmission Issues

This almost smells like a pump / pressure regulator issue Keep us posted?

03 Yukon rear differential temoerature ranges?

Anything under 250 is fine. If you're measuring from the casing, call it 225 to account for temperature gradients. 118 is... Fine...? There's more of a high limit than there is a low one (within reason)

    Thermostats—- 160* vs 187*

I'd you're running in the 190 range, that's fine. Mine runs in the 194 to 197 range with an oe thermostat The misfires intrigue me though. What are your bank 1 and 2 fuel trims?

Moog vs Mevotech... Hub bearings? Need reviews Asap

Moog: newer part quality seems to be meh. Maybe they were fine 15 years ago, but today, I'm unimpressed. Bushings like sway bar links are honestly too stiff. Ball joints are too tight and will cause steering abnormalities. I'm not sure if their wheel bearings are any better, but last time I got...

    Interior lights

I have some from vleds. Noted similar behavior, but they would turn on dim. I actually preferred it tbh. Kinda like a lo/hi They fade out with doors closed

Venting - me, not the Yukon

Curious I did my trans cooler lines a couple years ago. Can't say I had any real complaints with difficulty. They just sorta.... Pulled out. Jack it up, pop the grille of, pop off all the clips, take off the hangar, and just drag 'em through. I replaced the quick connectors at that time too. I...

    Gas prices making anyone reconsider?

My thoughts on it: I reckon it's a combination of - vehicle weight (those little model S's weigh almost as much as our rigs!) - Tire compound - SUV tires geeeeneralllyyyyy are a touch harder on the compound. Go dig your fingernails into some rubber next time you're at the tire shop - Torque -...

2003 Tahoe coolant system leak or head gasket leak?

Couple.... GRAND??? For insurance???? I'm going to sound like a shill here.... But I recently told Geico to pound sand because they kept jacking their rates around. Moved to a new area, wanted to up my limits to reflect vehicle value. They wanted ~1500/6mo. Just went to progressive. $500k...

P1133 code keeps throwing All new denso o2 sensors

What I would do: Hook up a scan tool at look at your sensor voltage. It should be bouncing between ~0 and 1v. If it's not, tell me what it's doing. If it's stuck around 0v, then it's lean. If it's around 1v, then it's rich. Also check your short and long term fuel trims. And to add to the...

Does anyone make hose pliers large enough for the filler neck hose?

    Tires

Can't comment on how they do in a field condition But my favorite tires to date are my Nokain WRG SUVs. To save you a google: they're all season compound with winter tread pattern. Not quite at the level of a dedicated winter tire, but it's 85% of the way there. Except it works just as well 20...

Does anyone make hose pliers large enough for the filler neck hose?

Yep I have the same ones that Blackcar posted. Well... Different brand. But same build house. Once you get a proper set, you'll stop fearing, and start loving constant tension clamps

    Sluggish 4 hi

Well That's not good Get it in the air, see what spins, or doesn't spin freely. Both in 2wd and 4wd. Trans in neutral. Check fluid, though that much friction would be..... Unlikely. But you should still check Check your diff gear ratios too. Spin and count. I'm wondering if someone swapped a...
