    Level question newbie

first of all, I don't even know if your 2WD truck is set up like my 4WD. You will have to look behind the front tires and tell me if it has coil springs in there, or torsion bars: It will be obvious. a guy at work told me that he has torsion bar on his NBS 2WD Tahoe, but who knows?? If you have...

Thank goodness for our Yukon being Flex Fuel

you can look it up by your VIN; that's how I know my truck is flex fuel. I have a black filler cap as well. GM started using yellow after a certain MY.

Thank goodness for our Yukon being Flex Fuel

RIGHT ON! my dumba$$ would completely forget that I can take e85. maybe if I start searching filling stations in my area, it will stick in the front of my mind. Would have come in pretty handy last week over here in Dallas when ran low

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I don't have leather.. and it looks like some of the cloth is gone from the seat. This is a 15-yr old truck. The list of repairs is so long I would never get around to rebuilding a seat cushion.

    Level question newbie

I have 275/60/20 on my 4x4 with 2" front lift & the tires still barely rub backing up in reverse with the steering turned all the way. It is almost 38" from the ground to the bottom of the fender. Post some pics and let's see it. Do you guys have torsion bar or coil springs on 2WD? A guy at...

2004 yukon, does not start--my fault

What did the tech @ autozone say when you told him that you were spraying a rust-buster into your motor?? Haha. That's OK. I won't even mention some of the stupid $hit I have done LOL

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I didn't think about sewing it back. Bad part is the foam or cushion itself, degraded. A seperate piece stuffed in & sewed-up would look obvious and compromise the repair and appearance. What's the trick to this, short of rebuilding the entire lower with a complete cushion? Not possible, right...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

So you did attempt "4L0" mode with transmission shifted into NEUTRAL? Are you referring to the TC or T/M when you say 'from neutral?' If I'm not mistaken, the auto trans needs to be in "N" if you don't hear any grinding or banging noise such as a mechanical hangup, replace the encoder ring and...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Oooh. TC is transfer-case. It has an electric motor bolted on the front; when you push the button (auto4, L4, H4,) that little motor turns a shaft VS. you manually shifting an old school lever on the floor. That motor is programmed to the whole computer network in the truck. The piece inside of...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Wish I could repair this! Prob be easier to just replace the whole damn seat. That's my intention anyway. I need steps, bad. On a brighter note, found a kickA$$ deal on Craig's: case of 5w-30 2dexos full-syn for $30!! 12 F'n quarts. 1-years worth of top-shelf oil changes. Even better a...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

It sounds like your encoder ring is going out. Then again, the TC motor has a lock so that it cannot shift out of the drive mode but... that's what it's doing. I wonder if oil is leaking past the gasket & corrupting various parts of the motor. Have you pulled the TC encoder motor off yet? I...

loosen the control arm bolts & sway bar end links when you swap out the keys & shocks. You tighten them back up after the truck is on its own weight and the suspension cycled/ rolled back & forth. Just don't forget & drive off with all of your fasteners still loosened haha. If you have the ZW7...

    Level question newbie

You will need a leveling kit. The 285s will rub every which way in the front fender well. If you have deep pockets, this is what you want. https://www.suspensionmaxx.com/store/product/SMX-MC2 you can buy any flavor spacer that you want for the back on eBay, along with dirt cheap torsion bar...

    Jounce stop question

Thanks for the feedback fellows. I swapped some lift keys onto my truck and it rode 10x better than it did factory, but my TB are worn out or something because that dude beat me up before the mod. I am sure that the DS bar got turned 180-deg or so bc that key has WAY more bolt threaded to...

    A/C Doesn't blow cold anymore

The levels of both can be observed and tweaked with a proper AC manifold setup. IDK the name of it but 2 gauges with several hoses & connections on a brass manifold. my bro has 1. I watched him add oil and refrig' to 1 of my cars with that thing, right there in the driveway. It's not a tool...

    Jounce stop question

What's the link to purchase? I'm in need of this mod asap. You have the stops resting on each other? I've read where it should be a bit of clearance between the bushing and CA, then also that it should be touching. Do you know definitively?

I see where you are coming from, I would be doing the same thing. but its a forum so you are going to either have folks working against you or just straight up ragging you. There are other forums I won't even post on anymore... you should get a load of those A-holes. Anyway, best to just ignore...

    Electrical

And before attaching the new clamps onto the cables you didn't do any prep work? That's where my issue was but I had to actually spread the wires out and scrub all of the corrosion out; it was embedded within the individual strands, I didn't see much outward sign of corrosion or contamination...

    Electrical

I hate that you are getting so much aggravation from this. and you don't have a CEL or any fault codes, correct? its common to experience CEL fault codes and/or error messages (DIC) for the transmission and ABS as those extensions flip out when hit with anything lower than your normal or spec...

    Electrical

a tight connection won't matter if corrosion has built up in The wires beneath the clamps. You have to remove each clamp and scrub everywhere with a wire brush before securing well with the bolt, which should also be cleaned well. We aren't talking about the obvious attachment posts, but the...

I Took Apart My Brakelight Switch - PICS

3rd brake lights are pretty flimsy & cheap to replace. Probably just burned out-maybe before you ever had an issue with the lights. Possibly related but if you replace I'm sure that you will find it working normally as is everything else at the moment
