HELP! Strange Sound coming from AC

You will need to do some investigating. Start the engine and slide underneath and look for any wobble or dog-tracking of the belt @ the AC pulley and belt tensioner. Have someone apply throttle if necessary. It's most likely going to be the AC clutch bearing on front of the compressor or the...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Oh I'm fully expecting these cheap rotors to be garbage BUT if they stay true long enough for me to get the Orig's turned and swapped back on @ some point, that works for me. I just can't drive a vehicle that brake shudders. I would rather my AC go out than ride like that for any length of time...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Obviously not a reliable fix, as I have documented the results of that practice here. But if you can get away with that on your own ride, good for you. I've never had that luxury as my replacement is always result of shudder/warp/hot spot long before extreme pad wear And if somebody is paying...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I honestly haven't. Not personally, down here in TX. No rust ever, on anything. I found material like an old reg' tag that said the p/o was from CO so that's where it came from. I still can't believe somebody replaced the pads and not so much as did a resurface on the rotors. That is...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I will take the original rotors in & find out if they can do anything with them. The big box parts store uses a lower number for discard than cited in the Chiltons w/s manual. If they pass, Maybe that will also apply to the rear rotors and they will also meet the threshold for resurface & I can...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

So here you can see the tools of the trade for removing those pesky caliper torx bolts. Or not.. And the broken wheel stud that I inherited; probably screwed up the original wheel hub in the process of replacing the stud. It didn't spin the same as before the hammering & torquing. FML will see...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I may have mentioned a time or 2 that I have found ZERO signs of any maintenance/maintenance items replacement on my new-2-me yukon 4x4. Well it's had a braking vibration since I bought it so, naturally I assume the original brakes need replacing. Well, somebody threw cheap pads on it & didn't...

    Lift issues

Don't spray WD40 or any other chemicals on bushings. If the bushings are old & crusty, synthetic grease/lube will buy you a little time but I would def stay away from chemicals.

    Lets talk about tires?

275/65/20 idk how wide the wheels are. I bolted on lift keys, then drove down the street to have the tires put on. These tires wouldn't have looked right without the front leveled, like a 2WD. Even if you ratchet up the stock keys to gain more clearance, you will have to get a wheel alignment...

    Lift issues

Did you loosen the control arms & sway bar links while you were replacing the torsion bar keys & shocks?? Very possible that bushings are binding. Have you had the wheel alignment serviced yet?

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Installed these bad boys. Should be good for a while. 100k mile warranty?? You can see the original NGK didnt have much electrode left after 14 some-odd years Just goes to show there are plenty people out there who just drive shit until the aftermarket 20" wheels fall off. The previous...

    3/4 Ton Suburban Running Hot

All you have to do to confirm the engine fan clutch is take a rolled-up newspaper or magazine & stick it in the fan while the engine is idling; the fan will stop as there would be no torque from the clutch. Another way you can tell the clutch is out: the fan will still be spinning after you turn...

Best &/or difference Between Level Keys

there was water in the socket. I unplugged the main transfer case pigtail and it was full of moisture. Left it unplugged to dry out overnight and no DIC "service 4WD" this AM.

Best &/or difference Between Level Keys

How did you find the bad sensor? Did you have someone diagnose it with the software, or swap parts until the DIC message turned off?? I was thinking about driving out to the junk yard to look for any trucks that may still have that equipment remaining and jack the TC motor, axle actuator & TC...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

You guys let the tank go low enough for the light to come on?? I let my tank get down 1/4 after I first bought this '03 and when I did, the truck wouldn't start. I thought the fuel pump burned out but I poured 1-gal of fuel into it & engine fired right up. 1 of my friends has the same prob with...

Front susp sitting on bump stops need help/info...( autoride victim)

I just got a 2003 Yukon as well, little bit different: 4x4 SLE with self-leveling suspension ZW7 rpo. The front end was piss-poor hanging all the way down, no rebound whatsoever, rattling my brains with every inconsistency in the road. I got a nice set of all-terrains & took it upon myself to...

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

Ya I can't find any 2-3" extended links either. I see that 1 from Skyjacker for 6" but no happy medium. I used keywords on EBay and came up ZERO I did gather that the +1" for HD models can be used, from what others have said; I did find that setup.

Horrible "death wobble" after new wheels/tires?

You didn't mention having the wheels re-aligned after lifting the suspension. I just replaced the stock keys with a 2" set and I can see the need for alignment from a mile away, it looks awful. just by appearance I can tell it won't drive or steer a straight path. Notice the top of the tire...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Dodge doesn't come without its front-end quirks. My cous' had a HD dodge that almost killed him & a family of 5 when a steering link came off or something while driving on the highway. I can't even think about it; seems like my worst nightmare. Stick with GM
