I hear you on the 2015s. I sold my 2015 Tahoe LS and upgraded to an 07 Escalade. Much nicer vehicle. The new Tahoe had weird issues that bugged me. Wasn't as roomy inside, headlights were bad, too many electronics, lift gate was too tall, etc.
403hp is fun too.
If I were in your shoes I'd get...
Not completely related. I welded together a trailer hitch bike rack for the Escalade. My wife very reluctantly agreed to watch me make sure my welds were strong.
While breaking apart the old heated seat connector, I ended up just cleaning it and shaping it. AC seats work again. I'll eventually use the new module but the old one works for now.
AC seats are pretty wild. I had only used them once prior in a Mercedes. In the Escalade I had to turn it off...
Oh you're talking about the transmission fluid video. Lot's of caffeine and a baby with short attention span off camera. She's ready to require my attention at any second. Have to do things quickly.
Although the dealership changed the oil 2000 miles ago, I wanted my stuff in there.
With the potential cold start wear on my c as m bearings, I wanted to get a full synthetic 0w30 oil in the engine. I dud a premature oil, filter and air filter swap today. Spark plugs and cables have been...
My front cigarette lighter and heated/cooled seats aren't working.
Fuse number 53 fixed the cigarette lighter.
Scraping and cleaning this did not fix the seats. I can still here a click when I try to use them though.
These wheels clean up awesome!

Just rolled 100K on my first road trip. I'm doing a 100% fluid change. Here's my setup:
And here is a video to show how brown the oil is...
Was yours AWD? I specifically wanted RWD in this SUV for economy. I think it helps a bit. (I have a jeep on 35s for the one day it snows per year)
Today I was on the Peak to Peak trail in the Rockies. I was going up and down the mountain in towing mode. MPG dropped down to 20.4. I was...
We're 750 miles into this road trip. 07 Escalade has definitely been an upgrade over 15 Tahoe LS 4x4.
It's very pleasant to drive. 403 HP makes passing fun too [emoji2]
Thanks! The truck runs awesome but I'll probably do plugs and wires soon anyway.
I'm not ruling out a tune either. I know this engine/transfer combination has tons of potential.
Just upgraded from a 2015 Tahoe to a 2007 Escalade.
This thing is fun to drive. It has 98,000 miles. Starts and stops perfect. Appears to have good oil pressure and motor mounts.
I'm going to change the transmission fluid. What else should I do immediately?
I need to figure out if those...
Thanks for the pictures and response! I'm certain on a full fluid change. I need to read more on catch cans. Catch cans were a common fix on my BMW with a CCV problem. Replacing the system was cheap and easy for me instead of catch cans. I try to keep a stock appearance when possible.
Catch can...
I'm hopefully purchasing a 99k mile 2007 Escalade (if he resolves title issues).
It is AWD and has no piston slap or oil pressure issues. It needs driver motor mount. Otherwise it is cleaner than my previous 2015 Tahoe.
I plan on doing fluids everywhere. Maybe plugs, wires and MAF cleaner.
My...
Test drove an 08 Escalade. I believe the tallness of the 4x4 Tahoe combined with the hatch design made it unuseable in our garage. The previous Escalade was perfectly fine. In the new Escalade my wife can actually reach through the rear glass if needed. Also, the rear captains chairs and push...
I know this is a silly question.
My 02 would allow me to pull into my garage and open the trunk to unload the groceries.
My 2015 would not. I had to temporarily park outside in the snow and rain to unload everything. If I opened the lift gate in my garage it would partially open and the third...
Just sold my 2015 back to the dealer. I'm looking at 6.2s now. This new Tahoe didn't drive as well as my old 02 Escalade.
I'm ready to give the older generation 6.2 a shot. Done with unimpressive 2015.
Completely agree on headlights. I almost modified them the first time I drove mine. Was catching flak because I was annoyed with a brand new car.
The blind spots are bad too.
I'm actually going to get rid of mine after 4000 miles.
