Just got a 2015 LT on 20s today. It rides very smooth. It's on mile 40 now. It's a much firmer but quoted ride than my previous Escalade. I love it. More control, less noise, less bounce and slightly less roll.
Time to sell the old Escalade. I've upgraded to a 2015 Tahoe 4x4 LT with fancy rims and black leather interior. Guess I can finally start paying attention to all those fancy posts from the fancy 2015 Tahoes.
I'd planned on shopping for 2007 Escalades in 3 years. I got this model 10 years...
In my 2002 Escalade, every seat has a functioning seat heater except for mine.
Would it be fairly easy to steal one from the kids? Is it easier to buy the cheap seat heater kit on Amazon?
I was told that is rail dust when I cleaned cars at a GMC dealer. It was hard to get off. We had to clean abrasively on new cars. I always noticed the Audis and other nice imports were wrapped a little better.
The tick is likely gunk in a lifter preventing oil passage. The heavier oil will just get clogged more and the tick will remain or get worse.
Check YouTube for "engine tick and oil flush". You'll see a guy using oil flush to solve the tick.
He explains it all well.
They don't measure axle strength like this. If you have huge wheels and tires or even a locker, the axle may break with low horsepower or torque. If you had 10" tall wheels and open carrier you could probably run 2000 horsepower.
Dana 60 should be good enough. I'd only be concerned if you're...
Exactly! Thanks for photoshopping that to show the improvement.
You could also possibly drill new center pins into the leaf springs to get the stretch. Since you're getting new driveshafts, this is the perfect time.
Love this truck.
Next time you're messing with the drive train consider sliding the axles outward a bit. It would help with your lift and those tires. You could go 2" forward in front 2" backwards in rear.
It helped my 4x4 when I lifted and added big KM2s.
Read the manual. My manual said to change it at 100K. 50K if it's a taxi or police car.
I can't believe people would suggest not changing any oil in a mid miles car.
"If it ain't broke don't fix it" isn't supposed to apply to preventative maintenance.
The book recommends a trans fluid change at 50k if police/taxi/warm climate or at 100k if not. I'd go ahead and plan on doing a full transmission fluid change soon.
Get some sand paper and fix the handle.
Also, don't use your child as a reason to sensationalize your post. (Most of us have kids. It's not GM's fault your kid cut their finger.)
I go 7500 also. The oil looking good, spark plugs that last 100K+, and higher capacity oil pans all contributed my decision go a little longer.
It didn't seem right because I was raised working on carb'd engines. These things just don't seem to degrade or tear up oil as easily.
It turns out it was low on refrigerant. The shop filled it but obviously not enough. I shouldn't have assumed they did it correctly. It's possible I have a leak now too.
Yesterday I noticed my compressor was cycling often and I was getting 112F out of my vents. It was 100F outside. Due to the...
Hi,
I am dealing with an issue with my 2002 Escalade.
The freon, compressor, accumulator and condensor are working properly.
Outside temperature: 95F
Rear AC: 50F
Front AC: 71F
(All temperatures take with infrared thermometer)
The front stays warm regardless of whether the rear is...
So when I manually move the blend door pictured above I can get 74F in the front and 50F coming out of my vents while it is 86F outside. What would cause a dramatic difference between front and back?
I took this actuator off. I can manually shift it from luke warm to damned hot.
The compressor is working. The lines I'm pointing to are very cold.
What should I check next?
